Got Rejected In an Interview, Just Because I Didn’t Answer a Personal Question

So, I got invited for this interview, and they told me to be there at 9 AM. Of course, I get there early, like 8:30, because I don't want to be late. But then I end up waiting for 1.5 hours. Seriously, they didn't even acknowledge me until 10. Then this HR lady calls me in, and she's totally unprofessional. She's like, on her phone, making personal calls while I'm sitting right there. And then she starts asking me these really weird questions, like what my nickname is, and what my dad does for a living. It got really uncomfortable when she started pressing for details about where my dad works. I mean, what does that have to do with anything? So I politely told her I didn't want to answer, and she actually said, "Then we can't continue this interview." I was honestly shocked. But instead of arguing, I just stood up and said, “Alright then.” And walked out. I left feeling pissed. Not only did they waste an hour of my time, but the HR rep was also rude and unprofessional..

Work-life balance is good. A secured job which will drain you out of creativity, motivation & ambition. There is a chance to work on-site (US, UK) if you are senior employee with good reputation. Good Leave policy.

Dislikes

There is no proper training program. Learning & development department is just for formality. Leadership group is concerned about important senior employees and is biased towards rest of them. After the acquisition by Mastek, appraisals & bonuses have gone down as well. Lack of innovation & professionalism in colleagues.

Work Details

I was lucky to acquire hands-on experience on many latest frontend technologies. My work is manageable on normal days. We plan the daily or weekly tasks well in advance. Occasionally, I have to work on weekends when the go-live date was near.

Work days: Monday to Friday (Flexible Timings)

Work related travel: This job involves Travel Within City.
