There is no much difficulty to work in State Bank of India.All higher authorities are very smooth and co-operative nature.Salary and allowances are good.There is three retirement benefits in SBI. 1.P.F. 2.Gratuity 3.Pension.

I worked in sbi nearly 40 years and after retirement I worked as dco for 3 years on contract basis. I love my bank and i pray that it will top above all the banks.

The most discouraging assignments in the Bank is holding the position of Branch Manager. There you have to listen from bottom as well as from top for anything apart from customer.

There are ample opportunities to learn banking, but complete all required qualifications before joining the bank. Once you join you will find hardly any time or leave to acquire additional qualifications after becoming a officer.

SBI is adopted new innovations without preparing the ground level team, who implemented at customer level. Good job security but no job satisfaction. Higharchy is too much and pay out nil. Career growth good, job security ok. Salary low. Performance wise incentives implemented but it is failed to attract employees. Association and union activity high but no impact on workers or officer community. Bad work life balance. Looks like semi govt organisation in some aspects and try to give competition to private banks. Systems and procedures good but due to lack of knowledge at ground level and pressure not implement properly resulting high NPAs and no customer service. IT platform good, compete with private banks.
