I worked as a senior Resident in one of the surgical departments ( ENT) LIKES- pay salary on time. Not unethical practices. Campus is amazing in a good location.

As a senior resident you'll get a good opportunity to learn basic ENT, but once you learn basics you will achieve plateau and cannot grow further as senior doctors only operate most of the cases and you don't get opportunity to grow further. Heavy work burden is there and senior doctors treat you like PGs and expect you to work like PGs . I had atleast 9 duties per months and they are all busy. Accomodation ie not provided and cost of 1 bhk apartment in Koramangala is atleast 40,000. First 7 months they only pay you 70,000. Next 6 months you'll get 85,000. After 1 year your pay will reach 1 lakhs. So pay is very poor for the work you do. They also send you to far away camps every week . Poor work life balance but rich exposure....Read More

Not much support. They are putting senior residents on line of fire while consultants in the department of anaesthesia just chat around.

Dislikes

Mine are biased as I was working in the department of anaesthesia which is compromised of laziest people on earth and just indulge in gossip. There is lady with name DR Ra@#₹& she is probably the most useless person in the department and her knowledge level would probably match first year resident. The HR has no consistent policy and randomly cuts your leaves.

Company management has assumed a complete corporate culture with a tag line of "serving the needy". There is no job security and there are constant friction between the medical professionals that are hired and the management/ HR. The HR is also extremely unprofessional.

We all staffs , students even the patients most like the surrounding filled with gardens and trees which gives relief after completing the heavy duty . And we all proud to explore the place we worked that is St. John’s . As I’m at present working in abroad have good opinion about the hospital . It gives good experience, and confidence to work anywhere once we get experience from St. John’s , really good place and peaceful place to work . Missing those days . Wish to come back .
