I worked about 28 years in Railway Protection Force of Eastern Railway. Since this force includes in Para Military , under central Govt, there is job security and no tension of salary hikes but due Govt culture, there is less workin culture and least reward to good one. In a nut shell, RPF is good from all aspects.

Dislikes

There should be streamline in proper working culture, promotion to deserved staff, proper staff redressal

Though there is job security but due to Govt policies, there is poor opportunity to the efficient employee in regards to promotion. None can take decision or to work without opinion/consent of senior even he is inefficient for that important rank. Risk in duty pattern and duty hours, it could be normal or abnormal.
