I'd like to caution against certain job openings at PwC, specifically those in the Kolkata SDC. Despite having access to various technologies, management's approach to learning and development is limited, with decisions often prioritizing company billability to clients over employee growth. The management style is inadequate, with alack of focus on scaling individual employees' competencies. Instead, resources are often burdened with irrelevant training programs. Furthermore, there appears to be a disconnect between the US directors and partners, who seem to be unaware of the actual technology being used. As far as my team is concerned, the work culture is pathetic, you don't get appreciation or any feedbacks for improvement, all you get is a warning not to fail. The pay is good but the work life balance is way too bad. I have had my share of health issues due to heavy workload and long working hours. I am even planning to quit my job.

I am pretty sure people who want to join this company will consider Big 4 as a main criteria and this exactly has been the biggest disappointment for me. I felt like i am working in some start up with no proper procedures in place. No body knows what to do with no clear understanding of responsibilities. Client deliverables are a joke. I have seen onshore mangers asking to pass test cases with jugad their only concern is completion of task before time and removing it from their bucket. They treat India resources as labour with no consideration of their time. I have been pulled into late night calls and they don’t even ask if i have any plans or is it late. Anything other than salary. There is lot of groupism and politics. They turn down anything other than those close to managers ask for. Very negative environment and no learning anyway. Late night calls, msgs and micro managing. My manager is toxic but I know few managers good here who are fighting to survive.

Bad work culture and toxic environment in sap service line. Worst managers with no respect for others and almost near to zero Hike. Work is like 12-15 hours daily and they will Keep threatening to Work on weekends. Manager Always push to work till 1 am at night.
