Adversity is the best teacher - so learnings on both technical and interpersonal skills is great considering the maze of barriers that need to be addressed to get the work done, without unnecessarily antagonising someone.

Dislikes

Experiences are specific to the India Government practice: 1. Perpetual resource crunch: You are expected to get everything (from proposals, deliverables, risk procedures, invoicing, payment follow-ups) without any supporting resource. You are expected to gather that yourself as well 2. Don't really know where all the money goes - pretty pedestal increments given the work burdens (situation might have changed post COVID) 3. Cooperation between business heads seemed pretty limited - there were more high level fights on who will bid than cooperative work. The KPMG experience is very team specific. Since I was part of a small team I had the opportunity to learn a lot from administrative/managerial elements to technical work.

Dislikes

The steep learning curve was accompanied with a lack of work life balance. But worse was a general apathy of leadership regarding employee welfare. Salary was not commensurate to the range of activities accomplished. Also there is limited growth opportunity from knowledge perspective - Manager onwards it's only about targets, elbow room to try out other areas is very limited.
