They say it happens every where if this is so then why even gangsters appreciate good people. At the office premises, no one will say wrong, because they have to see future, superior use it to its extent for bullying/demeaning because no one will say anything in office premises as it is bad for feedback. Using benifit of doubt any time, to prove other person wrong even if he/she is not. When they realise it is there mistake they end up becoming good.
