GE is a very good company to start your career, it provides excellent opportunity to learn technical and managerial skills. There are several roles with GE which can help employee to develop breadth in the career, management is supportive of such moves. GE is a high technology company and working here provides exposure to the state of the art techniques.

Dislikes

One think I don't like about GE is that people in senior professional band & above get paid better, where as people in professional and lead professional band are not paid that well. Last few years, GE could have done better in adapting digital technology.

Got Rejected In an Interview, Just Because I Didn’t Answer a Personal Question

So, I got invited for this interview, and they told me to be there at 9 AM. Of course, I get there early, like 8:30, because I don't want to be late. But then I end up waiting for 1.5 hours. Seriously, they didn't even acknowledge me until 10. Then this HR lady calls me in, and she's totally unprofessional. She's like, on her phone, making personal calls while I'm sitting right there. And then she starts asking me these really weird questions, like what my nickname is, and what my dad does for a living. It got really uncomfortable when she started pressing for details about where my dad works. I mean, what does that have to do with anything? So I politely told her I didn't want to answer, and she actually said, "Then we can't continue this interview." I was honestly shocked. But instead of arguing, I just stood up and said, “Alright then.” And walked out. I left feeling pissed. Not only did they waste an hour of my time, but the HR rep was also rude and unprofessional..
