I have been working here, at GAO Tek Inc, as an accounts employee and I can assure you every day has been nothing but a learning moment for me. Working with people from all backgrounds, cultures, and locations, I inculcated a kind of discipline and work ethic. Overall, it is great exposure to practical knowledge.

Teams are in different time-zones, so a Skype meeting will be at 6:30 am PST and 7:30pm IST and all hours in between. Language barriers. Being unpaid. Having to log in to the program on a Saturday night while working to post a weekly report.

I search LinkedIn all day for internship recruits at one specific college. I wait to see if these potentials will accept my connection request; if they do, I will try to recruit them into an internship. I schedule and shadow their interviews.

The company is a scam. After working there for a couple of weeks, I was allowed to move up to HR Regional Team Lead. The person who picked me said that they did so because "I gave them a good vibe" and "I talk good" They do not promote people who have any real skills, as they do not care who you are as an individual whatsoever. To them, you are another number on the screen. I did not learn anything toward HR besides how to write good emails, and that was because I taught myself. Anything that they sent to me as a "template" to send to potential candidates, I would have to fix the grammar or punctuation. When I found all of the proof that I needed to that shows the company is a scam, I sent it to the company feed. I gave them all public information within the company. (This information being the fact that the CEO is no where to be found on media or news, he only exists as a picture and writing. Also, the EDGAR SEC site shows that they have not filed anything with the government--as required by law. So, that tells me right there that they aren't real.) Once I shared this information within the company, one of the other INTERNS (acting like she is management because they gave her a fancy title) came back at me with the most unprofessional message about how she basically hated me. As the Regional Team Lead, I was required to keep track of the other regular HR Interns by keeping a record of how many candidates they contacted and hired. This was put into spread sheets and sent to upper management. I learned all of this

GAOTek has offered an excellent opportunity to work peacefully amidst the pandemic. Employees can work from their preferred location. Overall it is an awesome company.

With a lot of people joining, there's some kind of miscommunication happening at times where the new joiners are quite unsure of the instructions and training.

Being associated with GAO Tek Inc. as an HR intern, has given me the opportunity to develop the basic skills that are required for Recruitment and also has given me the opportunity to understand the Recruitment and Talent acquisition process as a whole. The organisation appreciated my work and hence, I was promoted to the HR team lead for India, during the internship.

Dislikes

GAO Tek Inc. Is only an average company and only good to develop and gain basic experience. The salary slab fir the company is hardly enough to even survive. I would not recommend the company for a full time career and as a matter of fact, the opportunity for a full time career here is hardly 0.5%. If you wish to learn the basics ofyour field, you may opt for this company, but definitely not a full time career.
