Working with Indian officers is ok, but working with foreign nationals like especially ukrainians, makes life terrible, when you are the only indian in your department

Dislikes

The work pressure is high, with less assistance and many a times you have to work 14 to 18 hours, thus violating rest hours. You will find everything ok when put on paper as far as rest hours are concerned but practically is a mess. Inspite of working so hard even after extra working hours, your work is not appreciated. In this situation, life is very difficult when you are a vegetarian and you have to survive, which has an adverse effect on your health. Delivery of spares is not in time, which piles up work and builds up mental pressure. In this situation you have to bypass safety to operate machinery. Inspite of all these above situations you work hard for extra hours, risk your life, why ? to get a good report from your boss and get promoted. As a 4/E, I am responsible for runn. and maint. of various machineries like all compressors. Incinerator, oily water separator, pumps, boilers, sewage system. Also responsible for sldg transfer, check list, watertest, invent, 2 ships fuel transf, bunker
