Job security, benefits, flexible work hours are good but this is not the only thing any employee would look for a successful career graph.

Dislikes

A big NO for experienced professionals. Most of the senior consultants are not well trained on leadership skills. Unnecessary gossiping, favouritism, behavioural issues from analysts, SMEs, senior consultants, and even the senior managers. They keep talking about mental emotional wellbeing and maintaining healthy boundaries, integrity, however, in past one year I have seen and experienced multiple behavioural issues. In addition, it is not only with me, I came to know from other new hires also who were experienced and they were treated very badly especially by the hyderabad employees. Although they work globally, however, it seems they really need to work on their emotional intelligence, leadership skills, and even project management. Many projects are inefficiently managed which results in unnecessary rework and backlog for the employees. Inefficient TNA during project planning and design phase, which creates a lot of communication gaps between the client and the team. As an experienced new comer they treat you as a KG kid and start schooling you on things that are big time distractions and a big block to efficient time management. Yearly evaluations are weird as they only look number of hours and how much favourite you are of your seniors and abide to only their ways. A lot of trust issues, lack of transparency related to work, many of the client communications are not direct. Not flexible with creative ideas. No proper hierarchy and a lot of repetitive patterns of communication gaps, slandering, power abuse by many senior consultants to control and manipulate the team members. There are many other points of observation to be shared, however, one line advise, if you really love your peace of mind and are efficiently skilled, please avoid joining this firm. They also have different growth hierarchy and that has a great profile mismatch issue while hiring. Work culture is not that great. Don't beleive everything they tell during virtual induction or hiring. They are also rigid with their policies and you have to declare not only your own investments, but your spouse and other family members too.

Dislikes

Salary hike, micro management, you might end up getting self doubts because of so much of micro management. Growth is very slow. R&R seems biased. There is no work life balance, it's only work work till you resign. You're expected to be perfect, else one mistake and you may forget about promotion.

Work life balance is a myth! Typical consulting firm with expectations of 12-14 hours of work, if you are working for Business Valuation team. Not a lot of people to help you in the learning phase. You are expected to fight your own battles. High attrition rate with no seniors and managers in teams to guide you through the process. Heavy ownership of work on the resources. Initial new joinee experience will be bad or worse. After learning and catching up with concepts and things, it will gradually improve, however that much time won’t be given and you will be thrown into Projects. Deloitte takes almost a month to hire an employee (Contractor/Permanent) with too many background verification processes. And after they hire, when you start understanding their process and start working and all of a sudden after 2 months inform the employee that we are not able to fully utilize you. Your last working day is tomorrow. You have only 2 weeks of notice period to serve. As a brand like Deloitte it doesn't suit them. I like how they value people as well as work. Work culture is too good. People here are very intelligent. Job security is there if you work and perform well and I think that holds good for all the companies out there. The salary, compensation and bonus is all performance based.
