Auto Promotion seems to be a good thing however, I didn't get it as I am completely 2 years with organization

Its completely dependent on the Manager you are reporting to, but ideally the evironment is not great. The senior managment doesn't know how to lead by example. They are trying to enfore work, they are in frenzy

Ample of learning opportunities if you are willing to take it. Good work life balance in general. Good culture. Leadership if open to hearing employees issues and support them as possible.

Dislikes

Extended working hours on almost daily basis. Sincere employees are overburdened with work while the insincere ones just enjoy. No time for self learning due to long working hours. Appraisal is based on office politics and not credibility.

There are learning and development opportunities via udemy and internal platforms but the team management doesn't provide time to utilise the same.

This openion limited to Staff Augmentation vertical - 10 hrs work culture takes 12 hrs to satisfy the unrealistic expectations and poorly managed processes. Too many unfair and biased approach by almost all TLs TMs and SDMs. If you are an outsider for positions beyond SPE you wouldn't be welcomed and treated well, tenured and competitors in the org will sabotage your growth.

Cognizant have lot of job opportunities and provide nice pay according to market standards. People working in cognizant can switch to other technology and work on it.

1. They blame employees for the things which are not managed by the company 2. No one responds to your mails and messages 3. Irrelevant training, and later totally different assessment which is difficult to clear 4. They hire for technical profile but asked to work in non tech or resignation.

But if you give more importance to mental health than salary don't join this company. You are literally a slave of the client and no body will speak for you.. and if your too lucky to get a client like Novartis(pharmaceutical company) and especially get into celonis tool project then you can say bye bye to your mental health and just hug the salary you get and stay. Company is good but sometimes your management is frustrating. Biased to favourites. Skilll development used to happen when i joined but disappeared with time. ( earlier they used to proivde six sigma training but never after that). Its unfortunate that your manager never shows data on the basis of which you are rated. Just verbal words and assumption. If they want to fire you they will put work pressure on you and appoint their pawn around you who will point fingers on you and sometimes plays with your emotions as well. Even if you are working hard you or your team will be never recognized. Suddenly after you left / aur asked to volunterly resign by HR your team will become best team on the floor because it was then headed by the same pawn. Polictics is played everywhere but cognizant is the hub. SDM makes their own rules and follow them. This all happened after my management was changed....Read More

Overall cognizant has a very good environment to work with. But I should say it also purely depends on the team which we have put into. The salary is higher for freshers and lateral compared to other companies.

Dislikes

We cannot expect good ratings and promotion even if we deserve it. As they ask you to work 10 hrs continuously, you will not have time to develop your skills.

No salary issues and if you get proper project and colleague your are good to go. Every 6 months there is a skill up process you can utilise to improve your self.

PM not having technical knowledge and worst experience in support project . Talent management team not having proper tacking they didn't care about your skills match with your project. Hike is also low always 3 ratings for support projects. There is no straight point of contact to enquire anything.
