In Blenheim chalcot, I learned a very important lesson of my life that “Life is not fair”
Management acts like they care about their employees well-being and everyone is so woke but when it comes to action they dont do anything for you other than timely salary. They will call you each day to the office and count 9 hours for some employees and on the other hand some employees get permanenent wfh with better salary than you cause they are good with some managers and they go on a dinner date, partying with their manager and you dont do that cause your principles come in your way and even you ask for one day wfh cause you had an accident then they tell you they have stopped giving wfh policy but remember “for you” is silent. And you will feel nostalgic here about your school cause their sitting arrangement is like that only. Everyday you have to look for your place for 20 30 mins going here and there with your system and bag cause no fixed places here and the new HR thinks she is the smartest person in this world, she acts like typical know it all person who has solution for every problem even if there is no problem she will create one to solve just to show her boss what a productive day she had at the office today. Lay off can happen anytime because ceo has lost his mind. He is hiring people non stop just to show off that he has the count like other big mncs. Many people don’t even have a constant project. Noone can say anything that's on thier mind else their name will be put in the weekly firing list. Policies are written but not followed, they can fire you without notice period even if it is in your contract. Any reason is fine to mark you down if the management or thier chelas don't like you. I like how they try to be cool but aren't.
Firstly you will like the environment & you will survive if you don't speak up. There no corporate culture here, its like a close friends running the whole business. One thing about the company is ANY THING CAN HAPPEN ANY TIME. Be ready to get laid off, be ready to see your junior becoming your senior. They all listen to you but then you will be targeted. NO BONUS, I mean 5% increament? Are u serious? And the FAVOURITISM, OMG its in the DNA here everybody who is important is a known of other important person. There no criteria of hard work only CONTACTS work here. People who really wants a change are replaced East India co. as we call it. They don't give bonus/ increment to employees but replace them with someone new with a hike. People just leave this organisation in 6 to 1 year max. "Blenheim Chalcot is the undesirable offspring of a modern exploitative company and the East India Company, merging today's greed with old-world exploitation" Here's a critical take on the Company: - They'll hire you with a title like "Junior Data Scientist" but then pile on task that have nothing to do with your actual job description. - Channeling the spirit of the old East India Company, a select few exploit their colleagues, and if you voice concerns to management about you work scope, their response is dismissive, suggesting you leave because this the only work they have. - They hire data science leads who are shockingly inexperienced and fundamentally clueless about requirement gathering and problem-solving. Yet, when a junior question their flawed ideas or points out their inadequacies, these leads erupt in a dramatic display of wounded pride and ego. - Complaints made through skip-level meetings achieve little, as the company is content to tolerate problematic managers/leads as long as their goals are met. Employee may even face threats of poor reviews if they try to switch portfolios, ai it could reflect poorly on the leads themselves. - HR is unlikely to offer genuine support: expect either empty promises or outright disregard. there is free coffee and the salary comes on time.
There is nothing to like. It is a toxic, fraudulent, sad place to work for. They hire 'product managers' and make them do project management, analysis etc kind of work which is irrelevant to skills. there is no onboarding process. They don't explain expectations, roles, responsibilities etc. They don't even do goal setting. They will say you don't meet expectations without setting expectations - beware. You will have zero job security here. Good, smart, hard-working people have been fired by inexperienced, stupid managers. Ask the head of the department basic subject-related questions - you will see what they bring to the table (nothing). Your salary will be below the market rate. Bosses - managers & senior management have no idea what they are doing - so many wrong decisions by seniors, and juniors have to pay the price. The seniors, at least for the product team, never take responsibility and the team suffers. Some favourite employees misbehave with females, and the management does not take any action. Some people are allowed to work from home indefinitely while others must come to the office even during emergencies and illnesses. If you are not a bootlicker, you will suffer here. UK counterparts can enjoy long holidays without disturbance. But Indians must be available during leave, holidays, and weekends - East India Company left and Blenheim Chalcot took its place. Beware - well-qualified people from elite institutes (tier 1 B schools) were lured by this company - 90% of them declined the offer. I wonder why. There is a basic infrastructure shortage - no chairs, no pantry to sit and eat in peace. You ask for a chair and they lash out at you as if it's your fault there is no chair. It's fun though, a game of musical chairs every day. HR is useless and will definitely throw you under the bus.
