1. No clearly defined roles in operations You can't pick up any industry skill here. It's all common sense and firefighting kind of work. 2. No work life balance - as you're required to be in office even if your peers and managers are in other countries. You go to office and also take calls during your night time so that you can absorb some company culture by dragging your a** to work driving for 3 hrs. 3. Random hiring (& firing) policies - if you're hired for a role with 10 years experience and an MBA, you'll see internally that a 2 year experienced guy with BCom is promoted to the same level after taking a few contacts in Customer service. It is absolutely weird. Suddenly roles get merged/delevelled etc. and business requirement will be quoted as the reason. At the same level you'll see others having +/- 60% of your salary. 4. 7 yrs at amazon, i have come accross with managers who not only support learning and development but also support with all your ideas. Talking about work life balance, i might get a lot of heat but i have personally drawn a line which none of my stakeholders have crossed yet. They know when to push and when not to. I love it here.

I like the constant micromanagement, bunch of loser managers with no spine to defend their own employees. I also love the ocasional stealing of work of their own employees. You can simply use this company to get better offer from other companies. Donot work here unless you dont have a choice. If you are in Supply Chain, god bless you. The managers in this team keep grudges and make sure you dont get promoted. Too busy promoting their own "Wives" to the management positions, instead of those who worked under them. Behavior is so bad you will rather serve jail time. In short you can ignore these teams of Amazon-IBSC, Supply Chain, Category team,Capacity Planning Team, S&OP, AMZL, AMXL, BOX & FBA team on a whole. If you want real growth in Amazon join IN-Payments team or Cobra team or other tech teams for that matter. Apply IJP ASAP if you are under Aseem Khosla's team or Divya Kapoor or Samaddar Indranil's team. Be extra careful if you are a woman, because these cabins are not safe for you! On a whole Amazon is a great company, it is these teams and departments and a few individuals that you must avoid. Few people have made this place the slum that it is today. Search for these names in phonetool. If your hiring manager is associated with these 3 names that i mentioned, its a huge red flag! Do not join.
