Amazon's work culture is great.

Dislikes

There are some teams in Amazon which are just a resemblance of hell. They will have rotational shifts and and rotational week offs, apart from these two factors, mandatory nights for 10 days in two months. Due to some morons, for their growth they come up with ridiculous challenges and will torture us for attaining it.

Appraisals and promotions are very less. Contractual hiring has increased tremendously, which is not in favour of the employees at all

Flexible for working moms, great for beginners, awesome for people who had worked previously in BPOs. Amazon is known for its culture and benefits. It has great leaders who can empathize with employees.

Dislikes

We need to work for 15 hours if we expect any promotions. We must do multiple projects either technical or non-technical to be in the list of promotions. We need to excel in BAU tasks as well as adhoc tasks. A lot of pressure is given if you expect promotion. Otherwise it is a peaceful place. However, one might feel stagnant in company if stayed more than 2 years without role change.

When I was laidoff from the job, there was no prior notification what is happening. I got the meeting scheduled four days before and when I asked what is the meeting all for there was nothing informed and on the meeting the only sentence from manager is to quit and leave
