What should I do?

Fresher here, I have one year experience working for a bootstrap startup. Ive handled Django and Node backend there, written all code by myself, was pretty much the only backend developer for the product. also did some frontend. The work pressure is getting too much, I cant balance my work life and the pay is also too less. I feel I need to switch. Offers I have :- 1. TCS, 3.35LPA, JL not yet rcvd, location not confirmed 2. XYZCompany, 3.6LPA, Noida, 1yr bond of 90k What should I do? Should I go for this XYZCompany? or wait for tcs? XYZCompany is not a dev heavy company, most of their work is done by QA and IT Support. But, they are saying that they will provide me with a dev role post eval after 3 months. OR should I skip joining both the companies and practice coding? And then apply for other companies? Please if anybody can help

If you're passionate about development and want to focus on improving your coding skills, a role with a more dev-centric company would be ideal. TCS might offer more stability, while XYZCompany offers more growth potential in a dev role after a few months. It's about balancing your immediate needs and long-term goals.

TCS offers stability but with less flexibility, while XYZCompany has a bond but a slightly higher salary. Think about whether the bond and location uncertainty are worth the extra money and potential for growth in a development role.

If work-life balance is a priority right now, joining TCS may give you that. However, if you're eager to develop your backend skills and can handle the pressure, XYZCompany might give you better opportunities in the long run.

you’re at the beginning of your career, and it’s important to be kind to yourself. If you’re burnt out, practicing coding and taking some time to learn can be a great option to refresh. You can apply to other companies once you feel more confident.

XYZCompany doesn’t sound dev-heavy, which could either limit your growth or offer you a chance to stand out if you push for development work. Think about whether you’d be happy in a place where dev work isn’t a top priority or if that’s something you’re willing to change once you’re in.

Be cautious about the bond they’ve mentioned. It might feel restrictive in the long run, especially if the company’s work culture doesn’t match what you're looking for. Evaluate if the higher salary is worth being tied to a company you might not want to stay with.

If possible, try to connect with current or former employees from TCS and XYZCompany to understand the work culture better. Their experiences might help you make a more informed decision about which company fits your values and expectations.

Sure, the money matters, but also think about where you’ll have room to grow in terms of skills. If you go to XYZCompany, would they help you evolve into the developer you want to be? If not, does TCS provide opportunities for growth in other ways?

Whether you choose to join one of these companies or not, don't stop learning. Focus on expanding your technical knowledge through side projects, coding challenges, or online courses. That way, when you're ready to make a move, you’ll be prepared for the next big opportunity.
