What % of your salary do you give off to charity?

Well this habit certainly does not belong to any religion. This is an ideal human practice

For the past 3 years, I've celebrated my birthdays with the children of an orphanage near my home. The first year, I spent around 10k for the food and cake. And, 5k extra for return gifts for the kids. Then, it has been around 25k. You can contact any orphanage near you to see if there's a provision like that.

Me and my father took upon the responsibility to greenify our neighborhood in Kolkata. We buy neem, gulmohar, and kadamba saplings for 100-150 bucks a pop. Then plant them in the neighborhood. We also put bamboo barriers around the saplings for protection and keep an eye on them for at least a year. We've planted many but around 35-40 survived to become tree-size in the past 5-6 years. It's not a lot of money that we spend but we put in a lot of effort to compensate for it. 😁✌️

I was looking for a way to help the rural farmers who don't get easy bank loans and came across rangde.in. It's not "donation" exactly but you invest in individual farmers from different regions of India. And, you'll get back your money with 6% interest in a year. It looks credible to me. Have given about 10k till now.

Monthly I donate to the Government of India without any expectations

Personally, I try to make regular donations (even small amounts) to charities I care about. I always do my research beforehand using Charity Navigator to make sure my contributions are going towards impactful organizations.
