Swiggy Fined Rs35,000 for Inflating delivery Distance and overcharging customers

Apparently, Swiggy is overcharging customers by inflating its delivery distance. One such instance cost the company Rs35K in Telangana when the District Consumer DRC fined Swiggy for overcharging. It was bound to happen, as I have seen many such instances myself. Restaurants with a 6.5 km range should be made to show over 7 km and not be included in Swiggy One membership.

Imho, a fine must in the least sting to be effective. 35k just doesn't do it.

I used to order from a restaurant 6km away with delivery charges, after purchasing one thinking itll help me save delivery charge, the restaurant is now suddenly 7.2km.. the reason? Free delivery only works within 7kms
