Apparently, [Swiggy](swiggy) is overcharging customers by inflating its delivery distance. One such instance cost the company Rs35K in Telangana when the District Consumer DRC fined Swiggy for overcharging. It was bound to happen, as I have seen many such instances myself. 

Restaurants with a 6.5 km range should be made to show over 7 km and not be included in Swiggy One membership.

I am an electrical engineering graduate with 3 years and 9 months of experience, including 2 years and 9 months as a functional business analyst in the tech industry. While I lack technical expertise in data analysis and machine learning, I’ve gained surface-level knowledge and recently started learning Python, SQL, and other skills to transition into data, ML, or AI-related roles. With AI advancing, I’m worried about sustaining my non-tech role. Currently earning 7 LPA working in lower mid level product company, I’ll soon be the sole earner in my household.

What salary can I aim for with a shift to the data domain, and what key topics or skills (e.g., Python, SQL, Power BI, ML fundamentals) will help me secure a stable, higher-paying role in this field?

I am confused can anyone help! Maybe I am bit too dense :-)

I’ve been at my new job for about six months now, and everything’s been going great! I’m getting positive feedback from my manager, and I get along well with the team. The thing is, when I started, my salary offer ended up being much higher than the initial number discussed during my interview. I didn’t negotiate and just accepted the offer.

So, fast forward to happy hour with the team, and the topic of salary comes up. I, unfortunately, shared what I’m making, and let’s just say... it didn’t sit well with the others who have been on the team for years and make less than me. They weren’t mad at me, but now I’m feeling a bit uncomfortable and unsure how to handle this situation.

DeepSeek claims they trained their AI model for under $6M, but that price tag seems way too low. Here’s why people are skeptical:

# Not Really Open-Source  They released model checkpoints and inference scripts, but the training script is missing. That’s a big red flag.

# Did They Train from Scratch? – Unlike Google, Meta, and OpenAI who spent billions training models from raw data DeepSeek may have borrowed data from O1, tweaking it instead of starting fresh.

# Paying Only Half the Bill?  Another theory? They underreported costs. Maybe their small firm only covered a fraction while their parent company (with 50K+ GPUs!) handled the real expenses.

Ironically, Big Tech trained AI using our data without consent. Now DeepSeek might’ve done the same just using their data instead. A case of “you reap what you sow”? 🤔

Hi,
I have had a first round of interview with the company. And mentioned my salary expectations as 15- 20% from my previous LPA. But after that I feel like I have undervalued my expectations. Being in the field for 9 years with the required skill, considering the market and the prospect company is a well known builder, i should have asked more. Anyway a face to face interview is scheduled next week. How to ask them a higher salary from what I have mentioned earlier. And how much I can ask more.
