Engineering - Software & QA

a senior qa engineer -software testing

I have ~4 years of experience working as a Functional Tester. I don't have much interest in working in automation as I am lacking behind the programming skills required for automation testing. I am confused about the future and growth aspects of staying as a Functional Tester. Should I consider PSM certification or any other role that doesn't necessarily require me to sit and code.

Should I consider Non technical roles?

You’ve got solid experience in functional testing...If coding isn’t your thing, PSM is definitely a good option. Have you explored BA roles too.

Product management & Scrum Master roles are great, but they need strong stakeholder management skills. Have you worked on handling requirements, sprint planning, or team coordination?

A lot of testers move into Business Analysis or Product Ownership roles. Do you enjoy working closely with clients and defining requirements?

I feel you. Coding isn’t everyone’s cup of tea. But do you enjoy process improvement or working with teams?

Bhai, job satisfaction matters the most. If testing still excites you but automation doesn’t, have you checked out manual testing specializations like usability or security testing?

Scrum Master and PM roles sound amazing, but they need a mindset shift. Are you okay with moving away from pure testing and taking on more leadership?
