Reporting Manager threatening and Forcing
I have over 5 years of extensive experience in machine design, SPM, robotics, prototyping, CAE simulation & vehicle design. My current manager is unjustly forcing me to work as an operator on shop floor. While I initially complied and completed many shop floor task,
But I cannot sustain this role long-term as it degrades my professional profile and is causing sleep deprivation, health problems, and a lot of mental stress due to the rotational shifts.
Despite trying to talk with him in many different ways, he won’t listen and even started yelling. Currently I cannot resign, and my manager is exploiting this, pushing his authority without ethics and treating like a slave.
My 3-month notice period is deterring many companies. HR has stated they cannot intervene, leaving me with an ultimatum: work in rotational shifts or leave.
After having multiple discussion with Manager/HR they have put me in PIP.
Update - I have resigned from this position and serving notice period

If possible, try to escalate the issue to a higher authority within the company. Consider approaching HR again with a formal complaint, detailing the negative impact on your health and career.

You don't have to endure this treatment. Your well-being is more important than any job. If there's an HR department or internal grievance committee, consider filing a formal complaint. While the outcome might not be immediate, it establishes a record of the issue.

There's this one thing i have learned in corporate. Your job is only useful for paying your bills, as long it does not alter you peace and mental health. I'd say try to accumulate some emergency fund as a measure to have some financial backing. Once you have that you should definitely resign from the position and hunt jobs extensively. In the short while this will be very painful, managing existing work stress and might happen he might even overburden you whilst you serve your notice period. But all of this will be worth in the end. Cheers & good luck!

I would suggest you to look out for jobs in Bengaluru right now as there are hardly any openings in Pune.

Write a formal email to your manager, copying his manager and HR. Mention that this work is unfulfilling, stressful and damaging to your job profile.
Tell them your doctor has said if you continue like this you will have to take antidepressants. Take few days leave if possible so this story is believable.

As others are saying collect evidence. Along with that try "quiet quitting" (google it you will understand). Utilities the time saved after quite-quitting to give interviews and switch as soon as possible. Otherwise if you don't want to switch then utilities the time saved to upskill. If your company understands that you are not working then they might try to talk to you and then tell them that this is how the shop floor works is ruining the career (also repeat the HR dialogue of managing shop floor things on own, now they can't interfere). Ultimately they might ask you to leave in that case you should negotiate on the notice period and get out of there ASAP.
We are all with you. You would surely find out a way. Stay positive and confident.
