Job Title: Procurement Manager
Department: Procurement (Steel Procurement Experience)
Job Summary:
- We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced procurement manager with specialized knowledge in purchasing and supplying structural materials such as angles, channels, beams, plates, and coils.
- The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the procurement process, ensuring cost-effective purchasing strategies, maintaining vendor relationships, and overseeing the efficient flow of materials needed for production and construction.
Key Responsibilities:
- Strategic Sourcing: Identify and source high-quality angles, channels, beams, plates, and coils from reliable suppliers. Develop and maintain a strong supplier network to ensure continuous supply and competitive pricing.
- Vendor Management: Build and sustain relationships with suppliers, negotiate contracts, and monitor supplier performance. Ensure compliance with agreed quality, delivery timelines, and pricing standards.
- Cost Optimization: Conduct market analysis to stay informed about material price trends and supply market conditions. Implement cost-saving strategies without compromising on quality or delivery deadlines.
- Inventory Control: Work closely with the inventory team to monitor stock levels of key materials, plan orders based on demand forecasts, and ensure materials are available when needed for projects.
- Purchase Orders & Contracts: Prepare and process purchase orders, review supplier contracts, and ensure that procurement activities align with company policies and regulations.
- Logistics Coordination: Coordinate the transportation and delivery of materials, ensuring on-time delivery and resolving any logistical issues that may arise.
- Compliance & Documentation: Ensure all procurement activities comply with industry standards, regulations, and company policies. Maintain accurate documentation of all purchases, contracts, and supplier agreements.
- Supplier Audits: Conduct regular audits of suppliers to ensure quality, reliability, and adherence to ethical standards.
- Team Collaboration: Work closely with internal departments, including production, finance, and quality control, to align procurement strategies with company objectives.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- 3 - 5 years of experience in procurement, with specific experience in purchasing and supply of angles, channels, beams, plates, coils, and other construction materials.
- Strong negotiation, contract management, and vendor relationship management skills.
- Excellent understanding of supply chain management, inventory control, and logistics.
- Proficient in ERP systems and Microsoft Office, with advanced skills in Excel.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Preferred Skills:
- Knowledge of industry standards related to structural materials.
- Experience working in the construction, steel, or manufacturing industries.
- Familiarity with lean procurement techniques and cost-saving strategies.
