Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Optical Networking Engineer to design, deploy, and maintain advanced optical network infrastructures. This role involves ensuring optimal network performance, troubleshooting complex issues, and staying abreast of the latest technologies in optical networking. The ideal candidate will have expertise in DWDM, CWDM, SONET/SDH, and fiber optic technologies and be adept at integrating solutions that meet high-speed data transmission requirements for enterprise and carrier-grade networks.

Your Role and Responsibilities Design and implement optical network solutions tailored to meet organizational needs.

Manage and configure Dense Wavelength Division Multiplexing (DWDM) and Coarse Wavelength Division Multiplexing (CWDM) systems.
Conduct site surveys and feasibility studies for new optical network deployments.
Perform optical network testing, validation, and troubleshooting to ensure high performance and reliability.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate optical networking solutions into existing systems.
Monitor network health and proactively address potential issues to minimize downtime.
Maintain and update documentation related to network architecture, configurations, and operational processes.
Ensure compliance with industry standards, security protocols, and regulatory requirements.
Work closely with vendors and service providers for equipment procurement, support, and upgrades.

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

In-depth understanding of optical transmission technologies, including DWDM, CWDM, and FTTx.

Proficiency in network protocols such as Ethernet, MPLS, OTN, and SDN.

Hands-on experience with optical testing tools such as OTDR, Optical Spectrum Analyzers, and Bit Error Rate Testers.

Knowledge of fiber optic cable installation, splicing, and maintenance.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to diagnose and resolve complex network issues.

Familiarity with optical networking hardware from leading vendors (e. g. , Ciena, Cisco, Huawei, Nokia).

Excellent communication and teamwork skills to effectively collaborate with technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Qualification & Experience Required

Bachelor s degree in Electronics and Communication Engineering, Telecommunications, Computer Science, or a related field. A Master s degree is preferred.

2-5 years of experience in optical networking or a similar domain.

Certifications such as Cisco Optical Specialist, Huawei HCIA-Transmission, or Nokia Optical Networking certifications are advantageous.

Proven track record in the deployment and maintenance of large-scale optical network solutions.

Prior experience in carrier-grade or enterprise network environments is highly desirable.
