Platform Development and Customization

• Design, develop, and maintain BigCommerce sites by creating custom themes, templates, and plugins.
• Develop and modify custom BigCommerce applications and integrations using Stencil, BigCommerce API, and GraphQL.

API Integration and Troubleshooting

• Integrate third-party applications, such as ERP, CRM, and marketing platforms, into BigCommerce to streamline operations and data flow.
• Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve technical issues and performance bottlenecks related to BigCommerce functionalities and third-party integrations.

User Experience Optimization

• Enhance the user interface (UI) and user experience (UX) by creating mobile-responsive, cross-browser-compatible, and optimized e-commerce pages.
• Implement SEO best practices, including metadata, site speed optimization, and structured data markup.

Data Management and Analytics

• Collaborate with analytics and business intelligence teams to implement tracking solutions for monitoring site performance, user behavior, and conversion rates.
• Work with stakeholders to set up and maintain analytics tools to enable data-driven decision-making.

Quality Assurance and Compliance

• Perform rigorous testing and quality checks to ensure error-free deployment across staging and production environments.
• Ensure all developments align with industry standards, legal compliance (GDPR, ADA), and best practices for data security.

Project Collaboration and Documentation

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including marketing, sales, and product teams, to ensure alignment with business objectives and e-commerce strategies.
• Maintain thorough documentation of codebase changes, updates, and integration details to support team knowledge and continuity.

BigCommerce Platform Expertise

• Proficient in BigCommerce development, including creating themes, templates, and custom solutions.
• Hands-on experience with BigCommerce API, GraphQL, and Stencil framework.

Front-End Development Skills

• Proficiency in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and jQuery, with a strong understanding of front-end frameworks like Bootstrap and Tailwind CSS.
• Experience with responsive design principles to ensure seamless mobile, tablet, and desktop experiences.

Back-End Development Skills

• Solid understanding of back-end programming languages (e. g. , PHP, Node. js) for custom BigCommerce solutions.
• Knowledge of MySQL or other relational databases for managing BigCommerce data integrations.

E-Commerce and SEO Knowledge

• Familiar with e-commerce strategies, conversion rate optimization, and SEO best practices.
• Understanding of Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager, and other tracking tools for e-commerce analytics.

Version Control and Development Tools

• Proficient in version control systems (Git/GitHub) and development environments (VS Code, BigCommerce Dev Tools).

Education

• Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Web Development, or a related field (or equivalent experience).

Experience

• Minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience with the BigCommerce platform and e-commerce site development.
• Proven track record of developing and optimizing e-commerce websites with BigCommerce and working knowledge of other e-commerce platforms (e. g. , Shopify, Magento) is a plus.

Certifications (Preferred)

• BigCommerce Certification or related e-commerce development certification is a plus.
