Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and dynamic Virtualization Engineer to join our growing IT infrastructure team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for implementing, managing, and maintaining virtualized environments, ensuring that the systems perform optimally, securely, and in compliance with industry standards. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to design, deploy, and support virtualization solutions across various platforms.

Your Role and Responsibilities

Virtualization Infrastructure Management : Design, implement, and manage virtualized infrastructure on platforms such as VMware, Hyper-V, and other cloud-based environments.

Performance Monitoring : Regularly monitor the performance of virtualized systems to ensure high availability, scalability, and reliability of the virtual infrastructure.

Troubleshooting and Support : Provide advanced troubleshooting and technical support for virtual environments, resolving issues related to virtual machines, host servers, and network connectivity.

Capacity Planning : Analyze system performance and plan for future scalability by identifying hardware, software, and resource requirements for virtualized systems.

Security and Compliance : Ensure all virtualized platforms comply with security standards and data protection regulations, implementing necessary security controls.

Automation and Optimization : Automate the provisioning and management of virtual machines using tools like Ansible, PowerShell, or scripting languages to improve efficiency and reduce manual intervention.

Documentation : Maintain up-to-date documentation for virtual infrastructure configurations, processes, and troubleshooting guidelines.

Collaboration : Work collaboratively with other IT teams, including networking, storage, and development teams, to integrate virtualization solutions seamlessly within the broader IT ecosystem.

Disaster Recovery : Implement and maintain disaster recovery and backup plans for virtualized environments to ensure data integrity and availability.

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

Proficiency in Virtualization Technologies : Expertise in managing and administering VMware vSphere, Microsoft Hyper-V, or similar virtualization platforms.

Cloud Computing : Knowledge of cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud and their integration with on-premise virtualized environments.

Networking : Strong understanding of networking concepts such as DNS, DHCP, and TCP/IP in the context of virtualization and cloud-based environments.

Storage Solutions : Familiarity with storage solutions like SAN, NAS, and cloud storage, and how they integrate with virtualized environments.

Automation Tools : Hands-on experience with automation and configuration management tools (e. g. , Ansible, Terraform, PowerShell).

Security Best Practices : Knowledge of security frameworks, firewalls, and encryption technologies in virtualized environments.

Virtualization Management Tools : Familiarity with tools such as VMware vCenter, vSphere Client, or System Center Virtual Machine Manager (SCVMM).

Qualification & Experience Required

Educational Qualifications :

A Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field is required. A Master s degree in a similar field is a plus.

Experience :

A minimum of 3 to 5 years of experience in virtualization technologies, with a proven track record in managing and supporting virtualized environments.
Experience with cloud virtualization platforms (AWS, Azure) is highly desirable.
Hands-on experience with disaster recovery solutions and high-availability configurations in virtualized environments.

Certifications :

VMware Certified Professional (VCP) or Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert (MCSE) is highly preferred.
Certifications in cloud platforms (AWS, Azure) or other relevant technologies will be an added advantage.
