Wireless Network Specialist

Design and Implementation:

• Plan, design, and deploy wireless network solutions based on organizational requirements.
• Configure and implement wireless LANs (Local Area Networks), WLAN controllers, and associated hardware.
• Evaluate new wireless technologies to enhance network performance and scalability.

Network Monitoring and Optimization:

• Monitor wireless network performance and troubleshoot connectivity issues.
• Perform regular system audits to ensure the integrity, availability, and security of wireless networks.
• Optimize network capacity, throughput, and reliability for diverse device types and usage patterns.

Security and Compliance:

• Implement and manage wireless security protocols, including WPA3, 802. 1X authentication, and network access control (NAC).
• Conduct risk assessments and ensure wireless networks comply with organizational security policies and industry standards.

Collaboration and Support:

• Collaborate with IT teams to integrate wireless networks with wired infrastructure.
• Provide technical support and training to end-users and IT staff on wireless network usage and best practices.
• Work closely with vendors and service providers to resolve technical issues and procure necessary hardware/software.

Technical Skills:

• Proficiency in configuring and managing enterprise-grade wireless equipment from vendors like Cisco, Aruba, Juniper, or Ubiquiti.
• Deep understanding of wireless networking standards, including IEEE 802. 11a/b/g/n/ac/ax.
• Experience with wireless site surveys and tools like Ekahau, AirMagnet, or NetSpot.
• Hands-on experience with network troubleshooting tools such as Wireshark, NetFlow, and SNMP.
• Familiarity with network security practices, including firewalls, VPNs, and wireless intrusion prevention systems (WIPS).

Soft Skills:

• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills for documenting network configurations and writing reports.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

Education:

• Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Electronics, or a related field.
• Relevant certifications such as Cisco Certified Network Associate Wireless (CCNA Wireless), Certified Wireless Network Administrator (CWNA), or Aruba Certified Mobility Professional (ACMP) are highly preferred.

Experience:

• Minimum of 2 years of hands-on experience in wireless network design, implementation, and maintenance.
• Experience in managing large-scale wireless networks in enterprise or service provider environments.
