National Sales Manager -Modern Trade (Account Management)


Job Description:


- The incumbent will be responsible for driving sales, profitability, and strategic growth through modern trade channels. This role will focus on building and maintaining strong relationships with key modern trade partners, executing sales strategies, and ensuring alignment with organizational goals.

Strategic Planning:

- Develop and execute the modern trade strategy to achieve sales targets and market share growth.

- Identify and evaluate growth opportunities within the modern trade segment.

Key Account Management:

- Build and nurture relationships with national modern trade accounts (e.g., supermarkets, hypermarkets, and e-commerce partners). Negotiate annual business plans, joint business agreements (JBAs), and promotional plans with key accounts.

- Monitor and analyze account performance, ensuring alignment with targets.

Sales Execution:

- Drive the implementation of promotional campaigns, visibility plans, and merchandising initiatives.

- Ensure product availability and optimal shelf positioning across all accounts.

- Collaborate with regional teams to ensure execution excellence at the store level.

Data Analysis and Reporting:

- Analyze sales data and consumer trends to identify opportunities and risks.

- Prepare and present regular reports on sales performance, competitor activities, and market insights.

Cross-Functional Collaboration:

- Work closely with marketing, supply chain, and finance teams to ensure seamless execution of account plans. Coordinate with distributors and logistics teams to maintain stock availability and service levels.

KPI:

- Achievement of sales and profitability targets.

- Growth in market share within modern trade accounts.

- Execution of agreed promotional and visibility plans.

- Relationship strength with key account stakeholders.

- Account Management - Buyer interactions, TOT, JBP, Target and growth orientation.

- Shopper Activations - Conceptualization , Execution and monitoring.

- On Shelf availability - Case fill, line fill, DC to the store movements , Managing 3P Merchandisers.

- Business/category plans - Category drives, Big days, Activity calendars etc.

- Must handle Large Account.

- He should have managed a Large Team.
