About the Role

We are looking for a technically skilled CAD Engineer with 1 to 5 years of experience in sheet metal design within an in-house production environment. The ideal candidate should have expertise in machining operations like shearing, laser cutting, turret punching, and bending, along with a deep understanding of tooling capabilities and limitations. A passion for innovation, aesthetics, and functional design is highly desirable.

Key Responsibilities

• 3D CAD Equipment Design Develop 3D models of sheet metal equipment while maintaining unique design signatures and ensuring manufacturability.
  Design Planning & Data Compilation Gather design specifications from management and marketing to create well-structured design plans.
  Manufacturability Optimization Ensure that designs align with available machine tools and capabilities, enabling easy and cost-effective production.
  DFM, DFA, & Serviceability Checks – Inspect and validate assembly and part drawings for Design for Manufacturing (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA).
  Manufacturing Drawings & Annotations – Extract detailed manufacturing drawings with clear annotations for production teams and semi-skilled operators.
  Quality Control & Testing – Define checkpoints in drawings to detect errors early in the manufacturing process.
  CAD Software Support – Coordinate with CAD software technical teams for troubleshooting and optimization.
  Factory & Vendor Coordination – Engage with factory managers, operators, and job workers to review CAD/CAM outputs, resolve production queries, and supervise pilot runs for new designs.

Required Qualifications & Skills

• Education:
• B.E. in Mechanical or Production Engineering.
• Experience & Expertise:
• 1 to 5 years of hands-on experience in 3D CAD design with a focus on sheet metal and assembly environments.
• Experience working in or supervising sheet metal workshops is a strong advantage.
• Strong understanding of sheet metal design parameters and their impact on machine and tooling capabilities.
• Exposure to tool room machining operations such as turning and milling.
• Technical & Soft Skills:
• Proficiency in 3D CAD software for sheet metal design.
• Excellent communication skills (spoken & written English).
• Time management & multitasking abilities to handle multiple assignments efficiently.
• Problem-solving mindset with a strong ability to work under pressure in deadline-driven environments.
