Job Title: Senior Manager Learning and Development (Textile Retail Business)

Job Purpose / Summary:

The Senior Manager Learning and Development will lead the design, delivery, and evaluation of learning initiatives that enhance the skills, knowledge, and engagement of retail and brand staff within the textile retail business. This role will also oversee employee engagement activities, including festive celebrations and team-building programs, to foster a positive and motivated work environment.


Job Description:

1. Learning and Development:

  • Design, implement, and manage L&D programs tailored to the needs of the textile retail business, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
  • Develop and deliver engaging mobile learning solutions to enable on-the-go training for retail staff.
  • Assess training needs and create customized content to bridge skill gaps, focusing on sales, customer service, and brand representation.
  • Monitor and evaluate training effectiveness, ensuring continuous improvement in learning outcomes.
  • Collaborate with department heads to identify skill development needs and align training programs with business priorities.

2. Mobile Learning Strategy

  • Develop and manage mobile learning platforms, ensuring accessibility and user engagement.
  • Curate relevant content for mobile learning modules, leveraging microlearning and gamification techniques.
  • Track and analyze usage data to improve platform engagement and learning effectiveness.

3. Employee Engagement:

  • Plan and execute engagement activities for retail and brand staff, including festive celebrations, appreciation events, and team-building activities.
  • Collaborate with regional and store managers to ensure consistency in engagement programs across locations.
  • Foster a culture of inclusivity and recognition through innovative engagement initiatives.
  • Measure the impact of engagement activities on employee morale, retention, and productivity.

4. Administrative and Other Responsibilities:

  • Manage budgets and resources allocated for learning and engagement programs.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, best practices, and innovations in learning and engagement.
  • Ensure all activities align with company policies and brand values.

Key Interactions:

  • Internal: Retail store managers, brand team leads, HR team, department heads, and retail staff.
  • External: Vendors, trainers, mobile learning platform providers, and event organizers.

Relevant Work Experience:

  • 8-10 years of experience in Learning and Development, with a focus on retail or textile industries preferred.
  • Proven experience in managing mobile learning platforms and creating digital learning content.
  • Strong background in planning and executing employee engagement activities.

Educational Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Organizational Development, or a related field.
  • Master’s degree or equivalent in HR, Training, or Organizational Development (preferred).

Skills and Competencies:

  • Expertise in designing and delivering training programs, with a focus on mobile learning.
  • Strong project management skills to handle multiple learning and engagement initiatives simultaneously.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with diverse teams.
  • Creativity in planning and executing innovative employee engagement activities.
  • Analytical skills to measure the impact of learning and engagement programs.
  • Proficiency in digital tools and mobile learning platforms.
