COBOL Developer - JCL/DB2 (6-9 yrs)

Key Responsibilities :

- Design, develop, test, and implement mainframe applications using COBOL, JCL, and DB2.

- Analyze and understand business requirements to create technical solutions that meet business needs.

- Maintain and enhance existing mainframe systems, troubleshooting issues, and performing debugging.

- Develop and execute JCL (Job Control Language) scripts to manage and control batch processing.

- Write and optimize SQL queries for DB2 databases to retrieve, update, and store data.

- Perform unit testing, ensure code quality, and participate in peer code reviews.

- Collaborate with project managers, business analysts, and other IT teams to ensure the successful delivery of solutions.

- Create and maintain technical documentation for system design, code, and configurations.

- Monitor application performance, optimize code, and resolve production issues in a timely manner.

- Provide support during application deployment, maintenance, and upgrades.

- Work closely with QA teams to ensure applications meet quality standards and functional requirements.

Requirements :

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).

- 6+ years of experience in mainframe application development.

- Proficiency in COBOL programming for developing and maintaining mainframe applications.

- Strong experience with JCL for batch job management and execution.

- Solid knowledge of DB2 (SQL, database design, and data manipulation).

- Experience with CICS (Customer Information Control System) for developing online applications is a plus.

- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

- Familiarity with Agile development methodologies is a plus
