Senior Engineering Manager (16-22 yrs)

Job Summary :

The Senior Engineering Manager will guide and manage a team of engineering resources /cluster leads in the development and implementation of cutting-edge technologies and products. This role involves resource allocation, and technical oversight, ensuring that engineering projects align with the company's/customer's goals and standards. This person will be working in Retail Industry with knowledge on Merchandizing, Planning, Retail operations, Allocation, Raw material handling, Digital, Retail Tech et al.

Job location : Chennai, INDIA.

Key Responsibilities :

1. Team building and Development :

- Lead, mentor, and develop engineering teams, promoting a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement.

- Conduct regular performance reviews, providing feedback and identifying growth opportunities for team members.

2. Project Management :

- Oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of engineering projects, ensuring they are completed on time and within budget.

- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define project requirements, scope, and timelines.

3. Technical Oversight :

- Provide technical guidance and support to engineering teams, ensuring the implementation of best practices and high-quality standards.

- Stay updated with the latest industry trends and technologies, integrating relevant advancements into project strategies.

4. Resource Management :

- Allocate resources effectively, managing budgets and ensuring optimal utilization of personnel and equipment.

- Identify and address any resource constraints or bottlenecks that may impact project delivery.

5. Stakeholder Communication :

- Communicate project status, challenges, and outcomes to senior management and other stakeholders.

- Foster strong relationships with internal and external partners, ensuring alignment and support for engineering initiatives.

Quality Assurance :

- Ensure that all engineering activities comply with industry standards, regulatory requirements, and company policies.

- Implement robust quality control processes to maintain high standards of product and service delivery.

Qualifications :

- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.

- 16+ years of IT experience with 10+ years in the banking domain.

-Proven experience as a Senior Engineering Manager, Scrum Master, or in a similar

leadership role in managing large and delivering complex projects.

- Strong technical background with expertise in relevant engineering disciplines.

- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.

- Ability to think strategically and make data-driven decisions.

- Experience with agile methodologies and project management tools is a plus.

Preferred Skills :

- Proficiency in software development, hardware engineering, or other specialized engineering fields.

- Knowledge of emerging technologies and industry trends.

- Experience in budgeting and financial management.
