Safety Officer

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Safety Officer with 5 to 8 years of experience in Facility Management to ensure a safe and healthy environment for all employees, visitors, and contractors. The Safety Officer will be responsible for developing, implementing, and enforcing safety protocols, policies, and regulations in line with industry standards and legal requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

• Safety Management: Develop, implement, and oversee comprehensive safety programs in the facility, ensuring compliance with occupational health and safety regulations (OSHA, local regulations).
• Risk Assessment: Conduct regular safety audits and risk assessments across all areas of facility operations to identify hazards and recommend corrective actions.
• Emergency Preparedness: Develop and implement emergency response plans, including fire drills, evacuation procedures, and first aid protocols. Coordinate with emergency responders as necessary.
• Training & Awareness: Organize regular safety training and awareness sessions for all employees and contractors, ensuring they understand and adhere to safety standards and procedures.
• Accident Investigation: Investigate any accidents, near-misses, or safety incidents within the facility, identifying root causes and recommending preventive measures.
• Safety Inspections: Perform routine inspections of machinery, equipment, and facility infrastructure to ensure they meet safety standards and regulations.
• Compliance: Ensure that the facility adheres to local and international safety standards and regulations. Maintain documentation of safety inspections, incidents, and compliance reports.
• Documentation & Reporting: Maintain accurate records of safety training, inspections, incident reports, and other safety-related documentation. Provide regular safety performance reports to management.
• Collaboration: Work closely with the Facility Management team, contractors, and other departments to ensure seamless integration of safety protocols across all operations.

Qualifications & Requirements:

• Education:
• Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Health, or related field.
• Experience:
• 5 to 8 years of proven experience in safety management within Facility Management or a related field.
• Certifications:
• NEBOSH, IOSH, or other recognized safety certifications preferred.
• Skills & Competencies:
• In-depth knowledge of safety regulations, risk management, and emergency response protocols.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with staff, management, and contractors.
• Excellent problem-solving abilities with a keen eye for detail.
• Proficiency in safety management software and MS Office.
