Role & responsibilities:
1. Inspection and Testing: Lead the inspection of incoming materials and components to verify compliance with Sulzer drawing, specifications and regulatory standards.
2. KPI Monitoring: Track key performance indicators (KPIs) for incoming and in-process quality, including defect rates, inspection pass/fail rates, and customer complaints.
3. Non-Conformance Management: Identify, document, and address any discrepancies in the incoming materials and in process deviations. Ensure proper handling and segregation of non-conforming materials
4. ISO/Quality Standards Compliance: Ensure that the incoming and in-process quality functions comply with relevant industry standards, such as ISO 9001, ISO 14001 & ISO 45001 or other applicable standards
5. Collaboration with Production Teams: Work closely with the production head, supervisors and managers to resolve quality issues and optimize processes to reduce waste, defects, and rework
6. Root Cause Analysis: Investigate quality issues that arise during incoming inspection & production, identify root causes, and lead corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) to address these issues
7. Process Monitoring: Monitor production processes to ensure that products are manufactured within specified quality parameters
8. Data Analysis and Reporting: Collect and analyze data from in-process inspections, creating reports to track key quality metrics and highlight areas for improvement.
9. Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with Engineering, procurement and manufacturing teams to ensure quality standards are aligned with customer needs and product specifications. Also address conflicts or quality concerns between departments or between the quality team and suppliers.
10. Training and Development: Train team members in quality procedures, inspection techniques, and best practices. Foster a culture of quality within the organization.
11. Continuous Improvement: Lead or support continuous improvement projects to enhance product quality, streamline inspection processes, and reduce waste.
Preferred candidate profile:
Work experience: >15 Years of experience in Manufacturing and/or Quality Management in Pumps Industry
Education: Level: Bachelor's degree in mechanical, production or related field.
Certifications: ISO 9001 Internal / Lead Auditor, NDT level II certification in RT, UT, LPT & MPT
Languages: English mandatory, Hindi & any other language is a benefit.
