Key Responsibilities
1. Quality Assurance :
a. Preparation of Method Statements, ITPs, Checklists and upgrade the policies / procedures in compliance with project requirements.
b. Ensuring the implementation of correct construction practices as per approved method statement, ITP, drawings, specifications and specified codes.
c. Continuous enhancement and improvement of product quality by random surveillance audits, in house construction activities at product manufacturer end, investigation, analysing products, systems and services being utilised.
d. Carry out the traceability analysis to identify the areas affected by the failures and setting up of monitoring mechanisms for the affected structures.
e. Advice the Project Manager / Project Director / Project Heads mitigation plans in case of test failures.
f. Ensure monthly Quality reports are prepared, reviewed and submit to the concerned.
g. Conduct weekly Meeting with contractors & CM team to review the construction quality status and highlight the improvement.
h. Update L1 on the deviations from specified tolerances whenever required.
2. Quality Control :
a. Ensure that quality control inspections are carried out at defined stage of works (as per approved ITP) for all structural works.
b. Ensure that all materials delivered at site are inspected / tested in-house or at approved third party laboratories as well as inspections at vendors / suppliers premises and compliance with standard specifications.
c. Update the material inspections & testing findings to Procurement and Material Management teams as necessary.
d. Give final approval on all quality control inspections as applicable.
e. Responsible for acceptance of Manufacturers Test Certificate of bought out items and material like cement, steel and construction chemicals.
f. Coordinate and follow-up with the CM
g. Ensure Quality documents and records are maintained
3. Outsourcing :
a. Review the concrete mix designs and advice the QE cell head for approval, whenever the same are furnished by RMC vendors.
b. Decide the frequency of sampling / testing and finalise the values of standard deviations to be adopted for concrete mix designs
c. In case of the RMC being not up to specifications, advise on acceptability or otherwise.
4. Training and Development :
a. Conduct QMS Inductions for project associates categorised as foreman and above.
b Conduct trainings to all construction management associates & Contractor teams periodically for implementing good construction practices.
c. Arranging of training and seminars and coordinating with reputed manufacturers for site associates, in order to impart excellence in them and make them familiar with new construction techniques and best practices
5. Team Development
a. Assist in establishing project related KRAs and individual KRAs for QE associates in line with QE cell KRAs.
b. Management and supervision of all quality control activities on site including QE associates (L3 and L4) performance / KRAs.
