Junior HR Manager

Role & responsibilities

Responsibilities:

1. Recruitment & Onboarding:

• Assist in recruiting field workers, drivers, machine operators, and engineers.
• Conduct basic screening and coordinate interviews.
• Manage onboarding, induction, and training schedules.

2. Payroll & Attendance Management:

• Maintain attendance records using biometric systems or manual registers.
• Process payroll based on work shifts, overtime, and compliance with minimum wage laws.

3. Compliance & Documentation:

• Ensure proper documentation of labor contracts, identity verification, and medical checkups.
• Handle statutory compliance related to labor laws (ESI, PF, Contract Labor Act, etc.).

4. Employee Relations & Grievance Handling:

• Address day-to-day employee concerns and escalate critical issues to senior HR.
• Assist in dispute resolution and maintain a healthy work environment.

5. Site Safety & Welfare Activities:

• Support safety training programs and ensure workers follow PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) policies.
• Assist in first aid, medical emergencies, and welfare facilities like canteens and accommodations.

6. Coordination with Contractors & Vendors:

• Work with labor contractors and maintain workforce data.
• Ensure compliance with SCCL labor and contractor regulations.

Preferred candidate profile

Qualification:

• Bachelors degree in HR, Business Administration, or related field (BBA/BBM in HR, MBA preferred).
• 1-3 years of experience in HR roles, preferably in mining, construction, or infrastructure projects.
• Basic knowledge of labor laws, ESI, PF, and compliance requirements.
• Proficiency in HR software, payroll processing, and documentation.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
