Job Description:
Role Purpose:
- The Incumbent provides strategic leadership in logistics, supply chain and warehouse management, ensuring seamless blood plasma operations with well-defined quality guidelines, regulatory guidelines, and detailed SOP.
- The role drives supplier (blood centres) partnerships, optimised logistics (local supply chains, own- and third-party storage and adhering to mandated ambient conditions), risk management, and regulatory compliance while optimizing operational performance and long-term supply chain sustainability. The role works in close conjunction with Plasma Sourcing development team push the quantity and quality of plasma available for production at the fractionation facility.
Key Accountabilities:
- Strategic operations & blood centre relationship Management.
- Transition the onboarded blood centres into the operational relationship with complete data, documentation and operational clarity.
- Develop and execute operational strategies for critical raw materials, ensuring product quantity, cost efficiency and quality compliance.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and work closely with them to ensure competitive terms, efficient logistic plans and account growth.
- Identify and introduce new blood plasma suppliers to the sourcing development team to diversify sourcing channels and mitigate supply risks.
- Monitor the end-to-end supplier performance and facilitate adherence to contractual terms, regulatory requirements, blood plasma quality and operational needs.
- Drive long-term supplier partnerships to enhance donor engagement safe practices, supply security and operational sustainability.
Cost Control & Financial Management:
- Manage the budget and ensure cost-effective sourcing while maintaining quality standards.
- Conduct cost analysis and benchmarking to identify opportunities for cost savings.
- Implement and maintain pricing models and cost control frameworks.
- Develop mutually beneficial incentive schemes and influence the quality of donor relationships through tactical and strategic interventions.
- Collaborate with finance teams to monitor spending and budget adherence.
Operational Efficiency & Process Optimization:
- Develop and implement best practices in operations, contract management, and supplier relationships.
- Work closely with logistics and operations teams to optimize inventory levels and reduce supply chain bottleneck or disruptions.
- Utilize data analytics to enhance decision-making and streamline procurement workflows.
- Improve lead times and delivery accuracy through effective supplier coordination and performance tracking.
Risk Management & Compliance:
- Identify and mitigate risks, including supply disruptions and price volatility.
- Ensure sourcing processes comply with internal policies, industry regulations, and quality assurance standards.
- Lead risk assessments and develop contingency plans for critical supply scenarios.
- Support internal and external audits related to procurement and supplier performance.
Cross functional Collaboration:
- Work closely with the Plasma Sourcing development team to ensure clear direction, single narrative and collaborative account growth initiatives.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Operations, Finance, Quality, and Regulatory Affairs to align sourcing strategies with business goals.
- Provide leadership and direction to the sourcing team to drive efficiency and continuous improvement.
- Present sourcing performance reports, market trends, and strategic recommendations to senior leadership.
Education, Qualification & Experience:
- Post Graduation in Logistics and Supply Chain Management or a related field.
- 10+ years of experience in Logistics, supply chain management, Warehouse management, with at least 3-4 years in senior leadership role.
- Expertise in supplier relationship, contract management, and cost optimization.
- Strong knowledge of ERP systems, procurement analytics, and supply chain risk management.
- Strong SCM domain knowledge and comfortable in management control systems
- Proficiency in data visualization tools (Power BI, Tableau) is a plus.
- Ability to build high performance team and groom next layer of successors
- Professional certification (CPSM, CSCP, or equivalent) preferred.
