Recreation Manager

As the Recreation Manager at Scylla Luxury Resort Spa, you will be responsible for overseeing all recreational activities and facilities, ensuring a memorable and enjoyable experience for guests. Your role involves developing and implementing recreation programs, managing recreational staff, and maintaining the resorts recreational amenities to the highest standards. Responsibilities:

1. Recreation Program Development:

- Develop, plan, and implement a diverse range of recreational activities and programs for guests of all ages and interests.

- Create innovative and engaging activities, events, and classes to enhance the guest experience and promote participation.

- Collaborate with other departments to integrate recreational activities into overall guest offerings and promotions.

2. Staff Management:

- Recruit, train, and supervise a team of recreation staff, including activity coordinators, lifeguards, and fitness instructors.

- Provide leadership, guidance, and support to ensure a high level of professionalism and guest service.

- Conduct regular performance evaluations, provide feedback, and facilitate ongoing training and development opportunities for staff.

3. Guest Engagement:

- Interact with guests to understand their recreational preferences and interests, and tailor programs accordingly.

- Promote recreational activities and facilities to guests through various channels, including signage, social media, and direct communication.

- Solicit feedback from guests to continually improve and enhance recreational offerings based on their preferences and suggestions.

4. Facilities Management:

- Oversee the maintenance and cleanliness of recreational facilities, including pools, fitness centers, sports courts, and activity areas.

- Conduct regular inspections to ensure safety compliance and address any maintenance issues promptly.

- Collaborate with the engineering and maintenance teams to schedule repairs, upgrades, and renovations as needed.

5. Budget Management:

- Develop and manage the recreation department budget, including expenses for staff wages, equipment, supplies, and programming.

- Monitor expenses and revenue related to recreational activities and facilities, ensuring financial targets are met or exceeded.

- Identify opportunities for cost savings and revenue generation through strategic planning and efficient resource allocation.

6. Health and Safety Compliance:

- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and industry standards in all recreational activities and facilities.

- Develop and enforce policies and procedures related to guest safety, emergency preparedness, and risk management.

- Conduct regular safety training sessions for recreation staff and oversee emergency response protocols.

7. Community Engagement:

- Establish partnerships with local vendors, tour operators, and recreational service providers to enhance guest experiences and expand recreational offerings.

- Participate in community events, festivals, and outreach programs to promote the resorts recreational amenities and engage with local residents and organizations.

Qualifications:

- Bachelors degree in Recreation Management, Hospitality Management, or related field.

- Previous experience in recreational management or a similar role within the hospitality industry.

- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills with the ability to motivate and inspire staff.

- Excellent organizational and time management abilities.

- Knowledge of recreational programming, event planning, and facility management.

- Certification in CPR, First Aid, and Lifeguarding preferred.
