Job description:

Rain Cements, a thirty-nine-year-old company headquartered in Hyderabad and known for manufacturing and marketing Priya Cement, is looking for an experienced General Manager- Projects who can join the senior management team at its Corporate Office, Hyderabad and work towards to lead and oversee the capacity expansion cement plants. The company has two integrated grey cement plants, one in Suryapet, Telangana, and the other in Nandyal, Andhra Pradesh. Both plants have an annual cement production capacity of 1.3 million tonnes and 2.7 million tonnes respectively, adding up to a consolidated capacity of 4 million tonnes per annum (MTPA) and one proposal greenfield projects in Unit 3, Adilabad, Telangana.

To be successful as a Projects Head-Cements, the ideal candidate should have strong project management skills involved in overseeing and coordinating various projects from start to finish while ensuring that schedules, budgets, and specifications are followed carefully. We seek a project leader with significant experience in site management, contractors management, manpower planning, erection planning, and people management.

Role & responsibilities

• Provide technical support for a major Brownfield/Greenfield Cement Projects and ensure the projects is successfully executedon time and within budget, from initiation to commissioningand achieves the guaranteed performance.
• Coordinate internal resources and contractors for the flawless execution of the brownfield/greenfield project, while constantly keeping in mind the agreed objectives, including equipment efficiency, quality of on-site works, project cost-effectiveness, environmental conservation, and related concerns.
• Ensure all machinery is constructed and installed correctly while giving utmost priority to the occupational health and safety (OH&S) of everyone at site.
• Coordinate internal and external resources to ensure that capital projectsmachinery or equipment upgrades, capacity expansions, new technology implementationsadhere to scope, schedule, and budget.
• Identify the right contractors for executing project works safely and successfullywithin the agreed timelines and within budget.
• Liaise between engineers and others working on the project and ensure maximum performance by providing goal-oriented purpose, direction, and motivation.
• Identify project responsibilities, delegating phases and elements to the appropriate personnel.
• Conduct regular project status meetings and provide updates to senior management, ensuring transparency and alignment between project goals and business objectives.
• Stay up to date with cement industry trends, new technologies, and best practices in project management to continually enhance project delivery and drive organizational success.
• Travel frequently to sites to monitor and ensure projects works go smoothly without any delays or difficulties.

Preferred candidate profile

• B.Tech/B.E in Mechanical Engineering from a reputed, accredited university
• At least 20-25 years of hands-on experience in cement plants upgradations or capacity additions, with technologically advanced machinery and equipment in Brownfield/Greenfield Cement units.
• At least 10 years of leadership experience in cement projects management
• Aged between 45 and 55 years
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Strong people-management and interpersonal skills
• Superb organizational skills including attention to detail and multi-tasking skills
• Working knowledge of SAP ERP
• Familiarity with any one or more: ISO 9001, 14001, 45001
• Ability to work with people from varied backgrounds towards achievement of departmental and organizational goals
• Knowledge of safety best practices to ensure incident-free operations
• Fluency in Telugu and English
