Roles Responsibilities
As an Engineer, Key Account (Team 1), the individual will be responsible for managing and developing key accounts within the Sales and Business Development function of the industrial casting manufacturing company. This role requires a combination of technical expertise, and excellent communication skills to effectively engage with clients, understand their needs, and provide tailored solutions. The individual will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure client satisfaction, drive revenue growth, and contribute to the overall success of the organization.
(Team 1 primarily works as back-office catering to dispatch and support for their team which focuses mostly on industrial customer segment.)
Key Responsibilities:
Handling front-end interactions (New Order requirements, Customer queries, PTC queries and updates) with customers and chasing back-end NPD development activities for assigned customers.
Collaborating with stakeholders for feasibility studies of new or updated requirements from assigned customers and ensuring their completion.
Proactively engage with existing assigned customers through outreach efforts and utilize data from events such as Aero show, defense expos, and various social business platforms to generate new leads.
Coordinating with customers for submitting customer drawings, 3D models, testing, quality, and packing requirements as per inquiries.
Coordinating with NPD and Tech Engineering for new product development related to specific customers.
Resolving technical issues between shop floor teams and customers, coordinating for smooth production or new development.
Sharing order status reports and activity schedules with customers for new developments.
Handling concession requests to customers for any deviations found during casting inspection.
Efficiently forward obtained Purchase Orders (POs) to the internal team for timely processing of open orders and ensure seamless communication and coordination between sales and internal teams for order fulfillment.
Facilitating successful customer audits of assigned customers, and preparing documents for various standards (AS9100, ISO-9001, 14001, 45001).
Preparing Sales Plan reports for assigned customers and providing forecasts to the planning team.
Preparing Sales Plan reports, forecasting, and sharing shipping summaries as per schedules.
Managing NCRs, credit notes, customer audit document preparation for the industrial section i.e., arranging Inspection sheets and Pouring witness sheets for Surveyors, following up for Inspection and documentations prior to Inspection and providing all scanned docs to surveyors on the date of Inspection.
Recoding warrant and Insurance claims; ensuring documentation compliance as per Legal Regulatory requirements. Keep records of negotiated advance payments, material shipping documents to coordinate with customers.
Documentation related support for successful customer audits and preparing documentation related to industry standards (AS9100, ISO9001, 14001, 45001).
Preparing order status reports and activity schedules to share with customers.
Utilizing software tools like SYNCRO, KISSFLOW, Beehive, MS Office, and ARGUS Metal prices for operational needs.
Desired Candidate Profile
Education and Certifications:
Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related field.
Advanced degree or relevant certifications i.e., Key Account Management Program (KAM) is a plus.
Experience:
1-3 years of experience in key account management role, driving business growth and achieving sales targets.
Proven experience in key account management, preferably in the industrial manufacturing sector.
Strong technical aptitude with the ability to understand and communicate complex engineering concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and trust with key accounts.
Demonstrated ability to collaborate cross-functionally and coordinate activities across multiple teams and departments.
Exceptional negotiation and persuasion skills, with a track record of successfully closing deals and achieving revenue targets.
Technical / Functional Expertise other competencies:
Proficiency in project management methodologies and tools, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data, draw insights, and make data-driven decisions.
High level of initiative and problem-solving skills, with a proactive approach to addressing customer needs and resolving issues.
Familiarity with CRM software and other sales and marketing tools for managing key account relationships and tracking sales activities.
Flexibility to travel as needed to meet with key accounts and attend industry events.
Strong business acumen with an understanding of market dynamics, competitive landscape, and industry regulations affecting the industrial manufacturing sector.
