Position Title: Manager - Accounts Receivable

Position Summary:

The Manager of Accounts Receivable (AR) will oversee and manage the day-to-day operations of the accounts receivable function. This role is responsible for maintaining an accurate and up-to-date AR ledger, ensuring timely collections, and managing customer accounts. The AR Manager will also lead and mentor a team of AR specialists, ensuring efficiency, accuracy, and compliance with company policies and financial regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Accounts Receivable Management:

• Oversee and manage the accounts receivable process from invoicing to collections.
• Ensure the accurate and timely posting of all payments and adjustments.
• Reconcile AR accounts to ensure that they are in balance and resolve discrepancies.
• Monitor aging reports and take necessary action to resolve overdue accounts.

2. Team Leadership and Development:

• Lead and manage a team of AR specialists, providing guidance, support, and performance management.
• Provide training and professional development opportunities for team members.
• Establish performance goals for the AR team and track progress.

3. Customer Relationship Management:

• Establish and maintain positive working relationships with customers, handling any issues or disputes professionally.
• Collaborate with the sales team to ensure smooth transitions from sales to billing and collections.
• Work with customers to negotiate payment terms and resolve payment issues.

4. Financial Reporting and Analysis:

• Prepare regular reports on AR aging, cash flow, and collection metrics.
• Analyze AR data to identify trends and recommend improvements in processes and procedures.
• Assist in preparing financial statements by providing timely and accurate AR data.

5. Process Improvement:

• Identify and implement process improvements to enhance AR efficiency and accuracy.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, accounting standards, and regulatory requirements.
• Automate AR processes where possible to increase efficiency.

6. Month-End and Year-End Closing:

• Assist in the month-end and year-end closing process by providing AR reports and analysis.
• Ensure AR-related entries are properly reflected in the financial statements.

7. Cash Application & Deductions Management:

• Supervise the cash application process, ensuring accurate posting of payments.
• Manage the deductions process, ensuring timely resolution of short payments and disputes.

Qualifications:

• Education:
• MBA in Finance
• Experience:
• 5+ years of experience in accounts receivable, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or managerial role.
• Experience with accounting software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, QuickBooks) and proficiency in MS Excel.
• Strong understanding of AR processes, credit management, and collections.
