As a key member of our Software Engineering team, you will be responsible for architecting and developing distributed systems that power ORBCOMM s high-volume, mission-critical solutions. This role offers the opportunity to design scalable and resilient microservices while leveraging state-of-the-art cloud platforms and containerization technologies.

What You ll Do:

• Distributed Architecture Development:
  • Build distributed systems designed for high-volume applications at scale.
  • Design and develop microservices using gRPC, message brokers (Kafka, RabbitMQ), and NoSQL databases (MongoDB, Cassandra).
• Scalable Solutions:
  • Ensure systems are resilient, scalable, and high-performing.
  • Identify and fix bottlenecks and issues that impact application efficiency and user experience.
• Cloud and Containerization Expertise:
  • Leverage public cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and observability tools like ELK, Prometheus, Grafana, and Open Tracing.
  • Work with containerization technologies, including Docker and Kubernetes.
• Problem Solving and Debugging:
  • Triage product or system issues, debug, and resolve them by analyzing their sources and impact.
• Best Practices:
  • Drive adherence to software development best practices, product security, and coding standards.

Who You Are:

You re a strategic thinker with a knack for operational excellence, ready to tackle multiple priorities with agility and grace. If you have:

• 13 15+ years of experience building IoT-based distributed architectures for high-volume systems.
• Hands-on experience with microservices, message brokers, and NoSQL databases.
• Deep knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and containerization tools (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Expertise with observability stacks like ELK, Prometheus, and Grafana.
• Proven ability to debug, analyze, and resolve complex system issues.
• Certification as an AWS Solutions Architect or similar credentials (e.g., GCP, Azure) is a plus.
