Job Description for Manager - Business Development in Power or Clean & Renewable Energy
Department: Business Development and Sales

Job Responsibilities

  • Conduct feasibility studies and RFQ evaluations for OEM Companies
  • Work closely with the costing team to prepare competitive quotes
  • Forward quotations and ensure timely follow-ups until order finalization
  • Improve RFQ-to-order conversion ratio and track business performance
  • Collaborate with BD teams for insights on commercial and technical specifications
  • Conduct contract reviews and hold production review meetings with customers
  • Maintain and update the sales pipeline and business development plans
  • Communicate quality expectations and key design points to relevant departments
  • Analyse technical specifications including drawings, raw materials, and special processes
  • Coordinate with supply chain, vendors, and manufacturing teams for smooth project execution
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards, regulations, and API procedures
  • Develop and refine PFDs (Process Flow Diagrams) and SOPs with Engineering and QA teams
  • Address and resolve NCRs (Non-Conformance Reports) and deviations in coordination with QA
  • Assist in capacity planning and machine utilization with production teams
  • Follow up on production progress to ensure high OTD (On-Time Delivery)
  • Ensure all parts meet customer requirements from project initiation to final dispatch
  • Maintain regular communication with clients to enhance relationships and service quality
  • Coordinate customer and third-party audits with QA and HR teams


Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

  • Achieving sales and revenue targets for Power Industry business
  • Improving order conversion rates and market share
  • Enhancing customer satisfaction and retention
  • Ensuring timely deliveries (OTD) and first-time-right (FTR) quality standards
  • Optimizing business development expenditure


Key Requirements

  • Mechanical Engineering Background Preferred
  • Knowledge of Machining Components must
  • Knowledge of Fabrication & Assemblies Preferred.
  • Experience in business development within the Power Industry or Energy Sector (Clean / Renewable Energy) OEMs.
  • Familiar with Gas Turbines or Wind Energy or Nuclear Business and known to main OEMs.
  • Strong sales, negotiation, and client relationship management skills
  • Proven ability to drive business growth and meet revenue targets
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills
  • Ability to understand and interpret technical specifications and contract terms
  • Knowledge of regulatory standards, quality frameworks, and compliance requirements in power projects
  • Willingness to travel and engage with clients.
