Role Overview:
We are looking for an experienced Business Development Manager (BDM) with a strong background in Smart City solutions, Traffic Management Systems, and Integrated Security Systems (CCTV, Access Control, etc.). The ideal candidate will be responsible for driving business growth within government accounts, establishing high-level relationships, and selling technology-driven security and traffic solutions.
The role involves extensive travel (10-12 days a month) to upcountry regions including Jammu, Punjab, UP, Haryana, Uttarakhand, Rajasthan, and other northern states.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute a sales strategy focused on Smart City, Intelligent Traffic Systems, CCTV, and Access Control solutions.
- Build and nurture relationships with government clients across various departments and ministries.
- Drive solution-based sales for public sector projects related to traffic solutions and integrated security.
- Engage with senior government officials, including Section Officers, Undersecretaries, Deputy Secretaries, Joint Secretaries, and Additional Secretaries to influence decision-making.
- Identify and pursue tenders, RFPs, and government contracts related to Smart City initiatives.
- Conduct client meetings and presentations to showcase solution capabilities.
- Understand and address client pain points and develop customized solutions aligned with their needs.
- Position the company as a trusted partner in government-driven smart city projects.
- Leverage existing relationships with government agencies to secure business opportunities.
- Maintain a high level of confidence and authority while engaging with senior-ranking officials.
- Ensure smooth project execution by coordinating with internal teams and government departments.
- Willingness to travel 10-12 days per month across northern states (Jammu, Punjab, UP, Haryana, Uttarakhand, Rajasthan).
- Establish a strong network within various government departments and Smart City initiatives in these regions.
- Proven track record in government solution sales (IT, ITeS, IoT sectors).
- Strong experience in selling CCTV solutions, Intelligent Traffic Systems, Smart City Solutions, Access Control Solutions.
- Ability to independently conduct high-level discussions with senior government officials.
- Excellent English communication skills (spoken and written).
- Experience in direct sales (no inside sales).
- Strong networking capabilities within government agencies.
- Experience working with government clients in IT, ITeS, and IoT sectors.
- Hands-on experience in government projects, tenders, and large-scale public infrastructure projects.
- Solution-oriented sales approach, not transactional sales (box-selling).
- Work on large-scale Smart City & Traffic Management projects with government agencies.
- Be a key player in shaping India's Smart City infrastructure.
