About the job:

Our Energy platforms extend the flexibility to monitor, manage, optimize and control the modern grid with the built-in capabilities using the platform tools and features powered by AI and machine learning that leverage utilities to manage and address their day-to-day grid operations and transition the grid to a modern flexible grid. Our platform utilizes the data from various endpoints starting from the renewable generation to the distribution side of the power exchanges.

The platform is built to suit and address the varied propositions and values involving demand management, renewable energy integration, management, and utilization, distributed energy resources management and grid-scale storage. The platform delivers business value streams in establishing flexibility at all levels of the grid with the benefits to the utilities, Operators, Private capex plants, large/medium/small commercial customers and the EV large-scale operators in their sustainable energy management.

The Head of Business Development will play a crucial role in driving revenue growth for our suite of energy solutions, including our DERMS platform, Energy Trading & Management software, and related services. This individual will be responsible for identifying, qualifying, and closing new business opportunities within the energy sector, including utilities, commercial & industrial (C&I) customers, and other relevant market segments.

Job Description:

- As an EaaS Business Development Head, you will drive TruePower's growth in India, establishing Energy-as-a-Service (EaaS) offerings in one of the world's fastest-growing energy markets.

- Reporting to Bengaluru, you will build partnerships with strategic collaborators across India and support India and Global market entry initiatives, advancing TruePower's mission of sustainable, innovative infrastructure in alignment with its core values.

Key Responsibilities:


- Shape and implement the Go-To-Market (GTM) strategy for EaaS offerings in India, aligning with the HQ brand strategy and adapting to local market conditions.


- Collaborate with teams to initiate market entry strategies for India and globally, leveraging insights from India to tailor approaches for sustainable infrastructure development in the region.

- Act as a pivotal partner in identifying and advancing opportunities across EaaS and related fields such as renewable energy, battery storage, EV charging and smart metering solutions.

- Work closely with utilities and other strategic partners to co-develop impactful cooling and energy solutions in India.

- Build and maintain relationships with stakeholders, including government agencies, corporate clients, service providers, and equipment suppliers, establishing as a trusted leader in EaaS across India and other developing regions.

- Lead the development of project proposals, strategic partnerships, and collaboration frameworks, negotiating and managing contracts from inception to execution, ensuring alignment with standards of quality, sustainability, and profitability.

- Conduct thorough analyses to identify market bottlenecks, emerging opportunities, and risks, developing scalable, innovative solutions for long-term growth.

- Oversee business development, project management, engineering, and operations within the India team, fostering close collaboration with market entry teams to achieve performance and operational goals.

- Such other duties and responsibilities as may be reasonably requested by your immediate manager from time to time.

Job Requirements:

- Master of Business Administration (MBA) coupled with a Bachelor's degree in engineering, technology, or related field.

- 5+ years of proven success in sales within the energy sector, with a strong focus on selling software solutions (SaaS, enterprise software).

- Experience with energy trading markets and operations.

- Knowledge of relevant industry standards and regulations.

- Existing network of contacts within the energy industry.

- Deep understanding of the energy industry, including market dynamics, regulatory landscape, and key players.

- Experience selling complex solutions, such as DERMS, energy trading platforms, or other energy management systems.

- Strong technical aptitude and ability to understand and articulate complex technical concepts.

- Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.

- Strong negotiation and closing skills.

- Proven ability to build and maintain strong customer relationships.
