About the Role :
We're seeking a proactive IT Administrator to support and maintain the technology needs of our Macintosh/Windows-based corporate office. You'll play a critical role in ensuring smooth day-to-day operations by resolving user requests, troubleshooting system and configuration issues, and implementing improvements for better user experiences. Responsibilities :
User Support :
- Respond to and resolve user requests regarding software, hardware, and login issues across Macintosh and Windows systems.
- Troubleshoot and resolve peripheral issues, including printers, scanners, and other office equipment.
- Provide support for email, VPN, and file-sharing solutions.
System Configuration and Maintenance :
- Configure, install, and maintain desktop and laptop systems (Macintosh and Windows).
- Administer user accounts and permissions on corporate tools like Active Directory, Office 365, or Google Workspace.
- Ensure proper configuration and maintenance of network shares, printers, and group policies.
Issue Resolution and Troubleshooting :
- Diagnose and fix connectivity issues with Wi-Fi, VPN, and Ethernet.
- Resolve software compatibility and update issues.
- Address system performance bottlenecks and security vulnerabilities.
Asset Management :
- Keep track of IT inventory, including hardware, software licenses, and peripherals.
- Coordinate with vendors for hardware repairs and warranty claims.
Documentation and Training :
- Create user-friendly documentation for recurring issues and troubleshooting steps.
- Conduct training sessions for end-users on new systems, security best practices, and productivity tools.
Required Skills and Qualifications :
Technical Expertise :
- Proficiency in both Macintosh (macOS) and Windows operating systems.
- Experience with common office productivity tools like Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, and collaboration tools (e.g., Teams, Slack, Zoom).
- Familiarity with troubleshooting hardware peripherals, including printers, docking stations, and external monitors.
- Strong grasp of networking fundamentals, including Wi-Fi, VPNs, and basic TCP/IP troubleshooting.
- Problem Solving and User Focus:
- Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills for hardware/software issues.
- Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills to work effectively with non-technical users.
System Administration Knowledge :
- Experience managing Active Directory, Group Policy, and file-sharing configurations.
- Familiarity with system imaging, deployment tools, and mobile device management (MDM).
Organisation and Process :
- Ability to prioritise tasks and manage multiple issues simultaneously.
- Experience documenting recurring issues and process improvements for efficient IT operations.
Nice-to-Have Skills :
- Familiarity with endpoint protection tools and patch management systems.
- Exposure to automation tools (e.g., PowerShell, Bash scripting) for repetitive IT tasks.
- Experience in a corporate environment with both Mac and Windows users.
- Basic knowledge of SaaS and cloud management for tools like AWS, Azure, orGoogle Cloud.
