Project Planning and Cost Control
Job Summary
As a Project Planning and Cost Control Specialist, you will play a crucial role in the successful execution of real estate projects. Your responsibilities will encompass project planning, scheduling, monitoring, and cost control. You will collaborate with various stakeholders, including the Project Head, internal departments, consultants, and construction teams to ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Assist in developing project plans and schedules, ensuring alignment with project objectives and timelines.
- Collaborate with the Project Head, internal departments, consultants, and contractors to coordinate project activities and construction schedules.
- Calculate project costs, perform rate analysis, and prepare preliminary and Bill of Quantities (BOQ) budgets.
- Prepare cash-flow projections and monitor project budgets using ERP software (e.g., SAP) to ensure effective cost control.
- Manage the change management process, analyze BOQ changes, and identify value engineering options to optimize project costs.
- Liaise with the Projects team, architects, consultants, contracts, and procurement teams to address cost and contractual issues.
- Generate monthly reports, project charts, and presentations on project progress, budget performance, and critical issues.
- Prepare project schedules, track progress on a monthly basis, and log any delays along with their reasons.
- Identify and escalate critical project issues to ensure timely resolution and minimize disruptions.
Skill Requirements & Educational Requirements
- Bachelor s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
- Proven experience in project planning, scheduling, and cost control, preferably in the real estate or construction industry.
- Proficiency in project management software and ERP systems, such as Far vision / SAP.
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to perform cost estimations, rate analysis, and budget preparations.
- Excellent communication and coordination skills to collaborate effectively with various stakeholders.
- Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and financial control.
- Problem-solving skills to identify and address project-related issues.
