Business Development Manager - IT Software Services
About the Role:
- We are seeking an experienced Business Development Manager with a strong background in IT software services.
- The ideal candidate will be responsible for driving sales, identifying new business opportunities, and building long-term client relationships.
- This role requires expertise in selling custom software solutions, SaaS, cloud services, AI/ML solutions, and enterprise applications in a service-based IT environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Sales & Business Development:
- Develop and execute sales strategies to acquire new clients and grow existing accounts.
- Identify potential leads, nurture relationships, and convert them into long-term business partnerships.
- Meet and exceed revenue and sales targets.
Client Relationship Management:
- Engage with decision-makers (CXOs, IT Heads, Procurement Teams) to understand their software development needs.
- Maintain strong client relationships to ensure repeat business and customer satisfaction.
- Conduct regular follow-ups and account management activities.
Market Research & Lead Generation:
- Research industry trends, competition, and emerging technologies to identify business opportunities.
- Work with the marketing team to generate inbound leads through digital marketing, content, and events.
- Actively participate in networking events, webinars, and industry conferences.
Proposal & Contract Management:
- Collaborate with technical teams to create customized proposals and presentations.
- Handle end-to-end sales cycles, including contract negotiations and closing deals.
- Work closely with legal and finance teams to ensure compliance with agreements.
Collaboration & Reporting:
- Coordinate with internal teams (development, project management, and marketing) to align client expectations.
- Provide regular sales reports, forecasts, and performance updates to senior management.
- Utilize CRM tools to track leads, pipeline, and customer interactions.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Experience: 3-6 years of experience in B2B sales or business development in an IT software service-based company.
- Education: Bachelor's/Master's degree in Business, IT, or a related field.
- Industry Knowledge: Strong understanding of custom software development, SaaS, cloud computing, AI/ML, and enterprise solutions.
- Sales Skills: Proven track record in lead generation, client acquisition, and closing deals in IT services.
- Communication & Negotiation: Excellent presentation, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Networking & Relationship Building: Ability to connect with key decision-makers and maintain long-term partnerships.
- Tools & Tech: Familiarity with CRM tools (HubSpot, Salesforce, Zoho, etc), LinkedIn Sales Navigator, and market research platforms.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience selling software development services, IT consulting, or managed services.
- Strong network in US, UK, Canada, or European markets.
- Ability to work in a target-driven sales environment.
