Job Description

As a hands-on People Leader and an accomplished C++ Technologist, you will join a team of 24 Developers in charge of the Commodities pricing real-time applications and infrastructure for financial data contribution. You will be leading the team and its BAU tasks which includes analysis, definition, design, construction, testing, installation, modification, and maintenance of accurately engineered information systems, containing software as the major component to meet agreed business needs.

Main Responsibilities / Accountabilities:

You are an accomplished hands-on C++ technologist, proficient in Agile development methodologies and experienced in the application of Scrum standard methodologies to software delivery. You will work with Scrum Master to apply the standard methodologies of Scrum, while promoting self-organization and constantly improving work processes.

Technical delivery - supports the Development Manager on all aspects of the delivery chain and handles delivery performance throughout execution. Identifies opportunities to optimize the execution, working with other key technologists to set technical strategy.

Risk Management - exhibits strong ability to identify and plans resolution of project risks.

Communication - identifies and handles communications to all partners, provides visibility and clarity so that appropriate action can be taken by senior management, handle partner relationships and ensure strong communication plans, both within and externally to the group.

Improving delivery performance - Identifies and recommends opportunities for improving the delivery model by analyzing consistent themes in lessons learned information.

Dependency management - Leads analysis and ensures all impacts of dependencies are addressed in the overall project plan. Works across the organization to ensure all dependent teams are aligned with the project schedules.

Resource Estimation and Planning - Ensure program plans are kept up-to-date and adjusted with ongoing project activities and maintain accurate project forecasts. Appropriately identifies when program/project is off trackto project plans and takes immediate corrective actions, including adjusting plans to account for corrections. Leads project estimating sessions.

Team Management - Define, set and communicate team goals and objectives. Provide frequent, clear feedback to development team members. Build an environment to aid the development team in practicing the core agile principles of teamwork, prioritization, team accountability, and transparency. Ensure team members have the technical skills and training to accomplish software development goals.

Important Skills/Experience Required:

  • Defines, documents and runs initiatives independently, leading and working with multiple teams that may have differing priorities and working/cultural practices.
  • Leads team and actively participates in all phases of work. Identifies, assesses and handles risks to the success of the project.
  • Adept at handling team interactions, build collaborative partnerships with peers and comfortable with making important decisions.
  • Proactively seeks opportunities for process improvement
  • Estimates costs, timescales and resource requirements for the successful completion of each project to agreed scope and constraints.
  • Prepares and maintains delivery plans and leads activities against the plan
  • Implement effective communication plan and operating rhythm, including provision of regular and accurate reports.

Candidate should be willing to work in UK Shift (12 PM - 9 PM IST) and should become comfortable with leading support activities during weekends as and when required.
