Position: Chief Compliance Officer
Qualifications: PG / LLB / CA / CS
Location: Valapad, Kerala
About the Role:
The Chief Compliance Officer (CCO) will act as the key liaison between company and regulatory authorities, particularly the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) and other law enforcement agencies. The CCO will be responsible for ensuring strict adherence to all regulatory and compliance requirements, fostering a culture of compliance within the organization, and integrating compliance frameworks into overall risk management strategies.
Key Responsibilities:
Regulatory Compliance & Liaison:
- Serve as the primary contact for regulatory bodies, including RBI, in all compliance-related matters.
- Ensure timely and effective implementation of regulatory directives, adhering to both the letter and spirit of RBI guidelines.
Compliance Program Development:
- Design, implement, and maintain a comprehensive compliance program, including policies, procedures, and internal controls.
- Continuously review and enhance compliance frameworks to align with evolving regulatory requirements.
Advisory & Guidance:
- Provide expert guidance on compliance-related issues across the organization.
- Ensure compliance awareness and integration within MAFIL's overall risk management framework.
- Regulatory Monitoring & Risk Assessment
- Stay updated on changes in laws and regulations affecting MAFIL.
- Assess the impact of regulatory changes and proactively adapt compliance policies accordingly.
- Compliance Risk Management
- Conduct periodic compliance risk assessments and identify potential vulnerabilities.
- Implement corrective measures and report compliance risks to senior management.
- Periodically circulate compliance failures and preventive measures to employees to enhance compliance culture.
- Reporting & Governance - Provide periodic reports to senior management and the Board on compliance risk assessments, regulatory updates, and material compliance issues.
- Examine staff accountability for major compliance failures and ensure corrective actions.
- Cross-Departmental Collaboration
- Work closely with Risk Management, Legal, and Audit teams to ensure compliance is integrated into the company's risk management framework.
- Policy Implementation & Oversight
- Support the Board and Senior Management in implementing Compliance Policies, internal codes of conduct, and procedures as prescribed in Compliance Manuals.
Key Skills & Attributes:
- In-depth knowledge of financial regulations, particularly RBI guidelines applicable to NBFCs.
- Strong leadership and stakeholder management skills.
- Analytical mindset with expertise in risk assessment and regulatory interpretation.
- Ability to develop and implement compliance frameworks effectively.
- Excellent communication and reporting skills.
