Position Title: Senior Engineer - Civil Tender

Location: Ahmedabad Head Office

Experience Required: Minimum 10+ years in civil engineering, with substantial experience in government tendering

Educational Qualification: Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering or a related field

Key Responsibilities:

1. Tender Preparation and Submission:

• Analyze tender requirements and prepare comprehensive tender documents as per government regulations and project specifications.
• Oversee the preparation of bid proposals, ensuring accuracy and adherence to deadlines.
• Coordinate with various departments to gather necessary inputs for tender submissions.

2. Rate Analysis and Estimation:

• Conduct detailed rate analysis for construction activities, materials, and labor costs.
• Prepare accurate cost estimates based on project drawings, specifications, and market rates.
• Ensure competitive and optimized pricing while maintaining profitability.

3. Quantity Calculation:

• Review project drawings and specifications to calculate quantities for materials and labor.
• Verify BOQ (Bill of Quantities) and ensure alignment with tender requirements.
• Identify discrepancies or omissions in tender documents and resolve them effectively.

4. Tender Process Management:

• Ensure compliance with government tendering processes, guidelines, and standards.
• Attend pre-bid meetings and site visits to gather critical project information.
• Address clarifications and queries raised by the tendering authorities.

5. Documentation and Compliance:

• Prepare and maintain all tender-related documents, including technical and financial proposals, prequalification documents, and post-bid submissions.
• Ensure all documents are accurate, complete, and submitted within stipulated timelines.
• Stay updated with government policies, regulations, and amendments related to tendering.

6. Coordination and Communication:

• Collaborate with internal teams, consultants, and vendors for efficient preparation of tenders.
• Liaise with government authorities and clients for tender clarifications and negotiations.
• Provide regular updates to the management on tender progress and outcomes.

Key Skills and Competencies:

• Expertise in rate analysis and cost estimation for civil construction projects.
• Strong knowledge of government tender processes, norms, and documentation.
• Proficiency in quantity calculation and BOQ preparation.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong communication and negotiation abilities.
• Familiarity with relevant software tools like MS Excel, AutoCAD, and cost estimation software.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Prior experience in handling government tenders in the construction sector.
• Knowledge of contract management and legal aspects related to tenders.
• Certification in project management or tendering processes is an added advantage.
