Job Description

Position Overview:


The Product Trainer will be responsible for designing, executing, and managing training programs for KEUS automation and lighting solutions. This role requires deep technical expertise, effective communication skills, and cross-functional collaboration with Operations, Sales, and Technical teams.


Additionally, the Product Trainer will be responsible for:


  • Owning and managing the monthly training calendar
  • Driving training for new product launches & upgrades for Ops and Sales teams
  • Executing refresher training programs
  • Maintaining and updating the Training Lab
  • Developing personal expertise in home automation and lighting technologies

Key Responsibilities:


1. Technical Training & Knowledge Transfer

  • Design, develop, and deliver in-depth technical training on KEUS home automation, smart lighting, and IoT-based control systems.
  • Conduct hands-on workshops and live product demonstrations for internal teams, system integrators, architects, and partners.
  • Simplify complex technical concepts for both technical and non-technical audiences.

2. Training Program Management

  • Take complete ownership of the monthly training calendar, ensuring its release by the 25th of each month for the upcoming month.
  • Organize and execute New Product Training for the Ops and Sales teams, securing sign-offs upon completion.
  • Conduct Product Refresher Training for Operations to reinforce knowledge of existing products, processes, and technologies.
  • Lead Induction Training for new Operations hires, ensuring a structured onboarding experience.

3. Cross-Functional Collaboration & Initiatives

  • Work closely with Product, Engineering, Sales, and Ops teams to stay updated on product innovations and operational needs.
  • Identify and drive process improvement initiatives that enhance training efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Provide real-time troubleshooting guidance and technical support during training sessions.

4. Training Lab Ownership & Maintenance

  • Take end-to-end responsibility for the Training Lab, ensuring all products, lighting setups, racks, and automation systems are functional.
  • Coordinate timely replacements and upgrades to reflect the latest product innovations.
  • Ensure the lab is updated as per new product developments.

5. Personal Growth & Automation Expertise

  • Develop deep expertise in automation, with a goal of taking complete ownership of KEUSs automation training programs.
  • Provide weekly updates on learning progress and identify key areas for further development.
  • Stay ahead of industry trends, new protocols, and emerging technologies in automation and lighting.

Key measures of success:


  • Training Program Execution Timely release (by 25th of each month) and execution of the monthly training calendar, ensuring 100% completion of scheduled sessions.
  • New Product & Refresher Training 100% of Ops & Sales teams trained on new product launches and refresher sessions, with stakeholder sign-off.
  • Training Quality & Impact Maintain an average trainee feedback score of 4.5+ out of 5, with 90%+ assessment completion rates and measurable knowledge retention.
  • Training Lab Readiness 95%+ uptime of the training lab, ensuring all products, racks, and automation systems are updated within 2 weeks of a product upgrade.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration Seamless coordination with Ops, Sales, and Product teams, leading to at least one process improvement initiative per quarter.
  • Automation Expertise Development Regular weekly learning updates, progressing towards complete ownership of automation training and advanced troubleshooting capabilities.

Key Competencies & Qualifications:


1. Academic Background

  • Bachelors or Masters degree in Electronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Automation, or a related technical field.
  • Certifications in IoT, Lighting Design, Automation Protocols (KNX, DALI, Zigbee, etc.), or Smart Home Technologies are highly desirable.

2. Technical Expertise (Mandatory)

Strong knowledge of:

  • Electrical circuits, wiring fundamentals, and power systems
  • Home and building automation technologies
  • IoT-based control systems and communication protocols
  • Smart lighting solutions, dimming technologies, and lighting control systems
  • Wireless and wired automation protocols (Zigbee, KNX, DALI, BLE, etc.)
  • Ability to interpret technical schematics, wiring diagrams, and product specifications.

3. Training & Communication Skills

  • Experience in designing and delivering technical training programs.
  • Ability to break down complex technical concepts into digestible information.
  • Strong public speaking, presentation, and content creation skills.

4. Experience & Industry Exposure

  • 5-8 years of experience in product training, technical sales, or engineering roles within the lighting, home automation, electrical, or IoT industries.
  • Experience working with architects, interior designers, MEP consultants, and system integrators.

5. Other Skills & Attributes

  • Strong problem-solving ability to address technical challenges.
  • Hands-on experience with automation programming, commissioning, or installation is a plus.
  • Willingness to travel for training sessions, workshops, and client interactions.
